For today's card I used an embossing folder that was irresistible to color! It is part of the SSS Moments In Time release and is called the Back to School Embossing Folder and Cutting Die. Here is an image of it:
Here is my card:
For a back to school theme, I wanted to use rainbow colors. I first embossed the Back to School Embossing Folder using white cardstock. I didn't use the cutting die (of a pencil) that comes with it. I wanted to color all of them on the embossed image. I used Copic Markers to color them in 6 colors. I used 2 shades of each color with the lighter one on the flat part of the pencil and the darker one on the edges. I used a dark gray Copic for the silver parts and then drew three lines with a Silver Sharpie. I added lines on each pencil with a white uniball.
I attached it to a white card base as it was. I had to clean it up a big with the White uniball as I had a few mistakes - what would I do without that pen?!?!?!? I die-cut the new Thank You Teacher Die from white cardstock and foam. I glued the white letters over the foam letters so they were steady since foam moves around. Then I die-cut the letters out of some scraps of rainbow paper I had from a previous project. I cut the words Thank You from part of one piece and the word Teacher from another piece picking up different colors for each. I believe I created these rainbow scraps using PSInks. I glued those letters over the white letters. I then attached the white outline for the letters to the card front and glued the letters over it. I added six white drops from the Rainbow Stash Drop Stickers around the sentiment.
This looks like it would take a lot of time, but it really didn't. I love coloring the raised images on embossing folders with Copics as the color soaks out to the edges. You do have to have a steady hand to get the lines straight on this one though so it wasn't easy to color! I love this Back to School EF and CD from the Moments In Time release. Thank you for visiting! Suzy
