The card I'm sharing today uses the SSS Funky Hearts Stencil Set from the To Be Loved release and the SSS Circle Sentiments Stamp and Die bundle fro the To Love release. Here are images of both products:
Here is my card:
I gotta be honest with you! This card did NOT turn out the way I expected it or wanted it to. But I followed my cardinal rule that I don't quit or throw a card away if it's not going the way I want - I just figure out another way! So now for the process! I started by inking the SSS Funky Hearts Stencils. I first inked the solid areas with the four colors of SSS Pastel Inks which are Pigment inks and very thick and apply like velvet! I then went over the edges of each solid area with a darker color of PSInks (listed in supply list) so it was shaded. You can kind of see that in the top left pink image. I also inked the hearts with this darker color which showed up well at first. Once it dried, I felt like you couldn't see the darker inks very well which meant the hearts didn't stand out enough. I guess because the ink on top was die ink and the ink below was pigment ink???
I could have just tried to replace the stencils over the hearts perfectly and re-inked them with a darker color (kind of wish this is what I did). But instead, I decided to outline them with a fine tip Micron marker twice each. I them applied Glossy Accents or Tonic Crystal Glaze to each heart which slightly altered the color making them stand out more and be really pretty and shiny in real life! I die-cut the three circle letters/heart from the Circle Sentiments stamp and die bundle and die-cut them out. I inked the letters/heart to match the inks on the background. I die-cut the background with a SSS Basic Rectangle Die and attached it to a white card base. I attached the three circles with foam tape behind them. Last, I stamped another sentiment from the Circle Sentiments stamp set with Versafine Ink and cut it out very carefully! I glued that below the circle sentiments.
I love both of these products and have seen lovely cards made with them. The Funky Heart stencil is one of my favorite products from the To Be Loved release. I didn't make a favorite card with it though as I'm not loving the black outlines. But at least I stuck to my rule about not starting over on any card! I hope you like it or at least it inspires you! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
