I groovy love the new Groovy Love Wafer Die from the SSS To Love release. I didn't get it with the release, so I ordered it and just received it yesterday. I also found some groovy patterned paper that went really well with it by Pink and Main that I used on my card. There is a Love Letter stamp and die bundle that has a similar groovy love stamp in it as well. Here are both items with links to the SSS store:
And here is an image of the Pink and Main Watercolor Spring Papers that I was inspired by:
The papers are 5.5" by 8.5" so if you cut each piece in half it is like two card fronts. And the set comes with 10 patterns, with 3 of each. They are a like an 80 lb cardstock in thickness which is nice and have a slight sheen but not too much. Here is my card:
I die-cut one of the Pink and Main Watercolor Spring Papers with a Basic Rectangle Die and attached it to a white card base. I die-cut the Groovy Love Die from white cardstock and several colors of colored paper (I actually die-cut like 10 of these unsure which colors I would use!). I die-cut a large "you" die using a large love you die that I can no longer find on the SSS website, but it is a lot like the one in this Thank You Die. I embossed three hearts using the Dotted Hearts Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies and white cardstock.
I attached the white frame of the big Groovy Love die to the background first. I then picked four of my colors of die-cut letters and glued them in as well as two of the white circle pieces from the outline. I then glued the large white you on the bottom of it. I added the three white embossed hearts. I colors some of the details on them with glitter markers. I used some white acrylic paint for drops around the background applying them with the wrong end of a paint brush. At the last minute, I added some lines on the colored letters with a white Uniball.
This card isn't my usual style and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I was inspired by the patterned paper, by the packaging colors in the Groovy Love die, and by a card made with this die for the release by Shari Carroll (it's in the release banner and is so cute). I guess it is more graphic than my usual cards and doesn't have any coloring! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
