I said I wouldn't do it. I promised. I have let myself and all my readers down. I'm about to break that promise. In my defense, when I promised, I didn't realize THIS embossing folder would be released and that I would have NO CHOICE but to use it! How could I not? In the Festive Fun release, there is a Poinsettia Jubilee Embossing Folder that has poinsettias on it that just needed to be colored by me! Here is an image:
Thus I have another Poinsettia card! Here you go:
I embossed the Poinsettia Jubilee embossing folder with white cardstock. I then colored it with Copic Markers. Bam, done haha. I decided to do two things to make my coloring look better: I outlined all of the images with a fine tip black marker and I colored the background with a black Copic marker. The black background covers all my coloring mistakes, so I love using this technique. I have done it on like 3 cards lately, so I should probably give it a rest (like I was suppose to give poinsettia's!).
I colored the center of the flowers with a gold uniball gel pen. I splattered gold paint all over it! (so much, too much?). I stamped a sentiment using the Vintage Holiday Swag stamps and dies and Antique Gold embossing powder. I die-cut it out with the matching dies and attached it to the center with foam tape behind it. I added some gold twine around the edge as I can't seem to stop with the bows on the sides of my cards lately! And I love how thin this gold twine is! I added some Opal Dazzling Gems as I wanted a little more white on the card to match the sentiment.
I'm never going to make a promise again about things like poinsettia's as I have an addiction problem. This Poinsettia Jubilee embossing folder is so pretty and was so fun to color. And I highly recommend using black for your background if you are new to coloring embossing folders or if it is super detailed like this one! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
