Oh how I love a pretty floral embossing folder. They are just begging me to color them when they arrive haha. And they are my favorite thing to color. The one I used today makes me super happy as it turned out better than most. It's SOOOOO PRETTY! It's from the Festive Fun release called Snow Poppies Embossing Folder. Here is an image:
I wasn't sure what color theme to go with as it doesn't really scream Christmas - it could be a holiday card or just a winter card due to the snowflakes. I was also nervous to try and color around them. So here it is:
I embossed the Snow Poppies embossing folder with white cardstock. I wanted to color it with copics, so I started with the background. I used B91 and B93 and just mixed them both so there were lighter and darker areas of the sky. I went over the snowflakes so many times on accident. To be expected I guess! I used a white Uniball over all of the snowflakes and that proved very easy to do and colored my blue mistakes with no problem! I then did the flowers with just Copics and then a black fine tip pen for the centers.
I wanted the snowflakes to stand out so I used Frosted Lace Stickles over them. Luckily I had just purchased two new bottles as it is my favorite color for snow (and Crystal). I let it dry overnight as Stickles are slow drying. I then attached it to a white card base and tried to figure out what sentiment to use! I had some extra ones from the Poinsettia Swag stamp set I used for a card recently. I stamped this one with black ink and die-cut it out with the matching dies. I attached it with foam tape beneath it. I added just a few of the Gina K. Designs Disco Ball 3mm sequins around the sentiment.
The Snow Poppies embossing folder was really fun to color. I do enjoy a challenge and the white Uniball saved the day. It always does as I use it as my white out on all my cards to hide mistakes! I'm still working my way through the Festive Fun release as Die-cember is coming quickly! Happy TG friends! xoxoxo
