Today there are TWO SSS STAMPtember collaboration companies: Whimsy and Colorado Craft Company. This blog post is for Colorado Craft Company and you can see my Whimsy Blog Post HERE. The Colorado Craft company stamp set is called Work of Art. It is sold alone here or with a set of matching dies here. Here is an image of the bundle.
Here is my card:
This is a one layer card - except for the black card base showing! I started with a piece of white A2 cardstock and then stamped all of the stamps from the Work of Art stamp set on it using Intense Black Ink. I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Die and mounted it on a black cardstock card base. I colored all of the images in with Copics. I colored the background in multiple colors of Copics using a darker color in the center and a lighter color on the edges of each color. I made sure to put colors next to each other that would blend together ok. I have no idea why I ended up doing the background this way - I just went with it and I ended up really liking it. I might have to paint a wall in my house like this! Note: for once I didn't use ALL the stamps in a set. I did not use the larger floral bundle.
I drew a ground with Grey Copics. Then I ran into problems. I showed my husband and my daughter and asked them what the animals were. They said fox and asked why I had colored them grey. Two against one on this one. I said because there are grey wolves and it could be a wolf. Then I went to bed. I woke up in the morning and decided they looked like rats grey, so I added some fur in dark oranges with colored pencils. That's why they have a grey undercoat hahaha. I added some Tonic Crystal Glaze over the painted areas on the wall and the paint cans. I also added some Vintage Black Board Nuvo drops around the ground and sentiment. Pretty artsy card for me and I'm happy with it - grey fox and all! (Which I did google and there are grey fox, but they have reddish color around their necks).
I hope you enjoy my very long epilogues I always post with my cards. I have no idea if anyone reads my funny stories! I don't get out much lately, so I'm just having long convos with any of you reading! You can see this darling Colorado Craft Company Work of Art stamp set HERE and the bundle with dies HERE. My Whimsy blog post is HERE. And you can see all of the STAMPtember collaborations that still are available HERE. Thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
Hi, Suzy, first time visiting your blog. Saw your card on Simon, and it convinced me to get the set. I love your coloring and your background. I think the grey underlayer adds depth. I liked reading your story to the end. Thank you for sharing your inspiration.
