Today there are TWO Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember collaborations. One is with Alex Siberia Designs (this blog post) and the other is with Waffle Flower and you can see that blog post HERE. The stamp set by Alex Syberia Designs is called Close At Heart and is sold alone or with a set of matching dies. It is a beautiful floral set which is always my favorite. I have loved so many of their stamps lately!
Here is my slimline card:
I stamped the Close At Heart floral stamp on a piece of 3.5 x 8.5" piece of white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I colored the image first with Copic Markers, but I didn't use any really dark colors - I was primarily trying to lay a light base coat. I then colored over it with colored pencils adding shading and texture and darkening the darker areas. I sometimes will go back in with a dark Copic over the pencils to further darken the darker areas as Copics go on so smoothly over pencils waxy finish and you can smooth out those dark colors with a blender or light Copic. I forgot to do that here and I do think the darker ares need a little more shading! I used a white Uniball on some lighter areas and a fine tip black pen for the inside dots. I also sometimes go over lines to darken them if the pencils have lightened them too much.
I die-cut this piece with the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Die and attached it to a piece of pink cardstock. I then stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on the smallest A2 Thin Rectangle Frame Die using white cardstock for the inside and pink cardstock for the frame. I attached that to the center of the card with foam tape behind it. I added a few sparkling clear confetti sequins as well as two colors of Nuvo Drops around the flowers.
I really love this Alex Syberia Designs Close At Heart stamp set. You can purchase it alone or as a bundle. You can see all of the STAMPtember collaboration stamp sets that are still available HERE. Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend! Suzy
