Today is the long awaited 15TH STAMPtember 2024 blog party which kicks off a month long PARTEEEE for all the stampers and card-makers out there! I love it as I get to work with a new stamp set every single day for the daily collaborations SSS does with other stamp makers. AND I get to work with all the wildly awesome products that SSS came out with yesterday for STAMPtember. Before I get started with my projects, I illustrated a stamp set for the first time in FOREVER. It is called Autumn Greetings. I'll be using it for my "one stamp, five ways" guest post on the SSS blog at the end of October. I did make a couple of projects with it that are in the banner at the top of this post though. Here is an image of the Autumn Greetings stamp and die set (that I drew as I traveled to Create in May as it is a 5 plus hour flight!).
For my project today, I used the Pumpkin to Talk About Stamp Set. There is also a set of matching dies for the sentiments with really cool outlined rectangles for the sentiments as well. Here is an image of the bundle:
Here are three versions of my project that uses the stamp set. All I did is stamp the pumpkin that is approximately a 5.5" square stamp on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I colored it in with Copics because that is the fastest way for me to color when images are large.I sometimes will add some shading with colored pencils and then go back into the really dark areas and add more Copics in a dark color over the pencils as it smears and blends in really well over the waxy pencils. I also added some lines with a white uniball. I cut the image out with my paper cutter and used a black sharpie along each edge. I added foam tape to the backside, planning on making it into a card.
Instead of a making it into a card, I decided to use it on a frame so I could display it over the fall season. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought all 3 of these frames trying to decide white one I liked it on the best. I had to send it to Shari Carroll as she does the photography for the new releases, so I sent her all three frames to pick from. You can tell from the graphic at the top of this post that she liked the first one the most and I have to agree that it looks best on that one. Now she has 2 frames to use for whatever! Lucky HL is inexpensive, but it has toooo many options for this girl to pick from!
Here is a card I posted yesterday using the Autumn Gourds embossing folder and it has a set of matching cutting dies that I did not use. It can be purchased with or without the dies. You can see the blog post HERE.
Have I gotten ya'll in the mood for fall yet? I'm NOT a fall person, although I do like the weather. But I don't like the colors at all and it is hard for me to use them. I am ready to move on to Christmas after this post hahaha. Thank you so much for visiting today! My favorite of your cards is the pumpkin background. You spent so much time highlighting each pumpkin and it is beautiful.
