Today is the SSS release of the October 2024 card kit that is called Two-Step Simple Leaves! If you are in the mood for Fall, this card is for you! It is full of fall colors and products, including a 6x8" stamp set that is also called Two-Step Simple Leaves! Here is an image of the kit:
The kit contains a few other SSS products created for this kit. One is a Two-Step Simple Leaves Stencil that goes with the stamp set. This gives you another way to color the leaves if you don't want to use the flat stamps (allows you to add multiple colors to the leaves which is what I did). It also contains a special embossing folder called Fluted Forest Decor. And they developed some new colors of Pawsitively Dazzling Gems in Pastel Tones. There is a set of matching dies for the stamp set that can be purchased separately HERE. I had the dies and really appreciated using them, especially for the small sentiments. Here are my cards:
I used the Two-Step Simple Leaves Stencil first to create my leaves. I applied the Pawsitively Saturated Inks using Tiny Foam Applicators. All of the colors I used are in the supply list at the bottom of this post. They are listed first in the colors (my 3rd card uses the ones listed after that). After they were all inked, I applied Antique Gold embossing powder over them using the Two-Step Simple Leaves stamp set. I then die-cut them out with the matching dies.
I embossed the Fluted Forest Decor embossing folder with a piece of patterned paper in the 49 and Market Spectrum Gardenia Classics 6x8" paper pack. I am in LOVE with their paper pads as the paper is thick like cardstock and comes in so many great patterns and plain colors. This was was a variated red/orange and it stood up really well with the embossing folder. I cut it down slightly and mounted it on a card base made of the Ivory Cardstock that comes in the kit. I rubbed some of the Distress Ink in the kit lightly over it with a Tiny Foam Applicator just to darken the raised images a little. I die-cut the thanks die in the A7 Nested Frame Dies from both the ivory cardstock and the same patterned paper and glued them together. I attached the sentiment first to the bottom corner and then arranged the leaves coming out of it. I added a small sentiment from the stamp set on the same paper to the bottom. Last I added some of the new Pastel Pawsitively Dazzling Gems that come in the kit.
This slimline card is so not my normal style, but I love it! The Stamperia Rice Paper in the kit is so beautiful! I cut a piece to fit on the front on a slimline card base made from ivory cardstock. I then cut images out of several of the other spices - primarily flowers and attached them over it. I then used the Botany Boutique rub ons in the kit over the Rice paper - they rub off really easily. I had inked and embossed some additional leaves when I made the first card that didn't match, so I didn't use them. I darkened the ink colors a bit with Copics so they would match my card perfectly. I attached them over the background.
I stamped two of the small sentiments in the stamp set with Twilight PSInk and die-cut them out. I added one to the top and one to the bottom. I also added some of the pale yellow and light blue gems from the Pastel PD Gems that come with the kit around the background. I love that bird on the rice paper so much!
My last card is not made in fall colors at all! I had to use my favorite colors for one of my cards! I stamped all of the leaves in the stamp set with Intense Black Ink (some multiples). I colored them all in with colored pencils. I used lines on them to add interest. I love coloring with pencils, so this was just indulging myself since the stamp set comes with both flat stamps and a stencil to make coloring easier! I die-cut them all out with the matching dies. I was so happy to have the dies for this stamp set as I love it so much!
I inked blended a background for a 5x7 card using Ranger Foam Applicators and several shades of the lightest colors in different Trios that matched my leaves. I wanted it to stand out, but also be softer than the leaves. I attached it to a white card base. I die-cut the new With Sincere Thanks die from the STAMPtember release from white cardstock twice. I applied some of the darker shades of the same ink Trio's to the letters on one set and then punched them out and glued them over the other set. I attached that to the center of the background with foam tape behind it. I tucked all of the leaves under it going around it using foam tape behind the top of some and only glued down the stems so the leaves kind of float upward. I used some PD Gems around the card including some other colors that didn't come with the kit. I stamped a few of the small sentiments from the stamp set with black ink and die-cut them out. I added them around some of the leaves.
This Two-Step Simple Leaves kit is so much fun and as you can see from my cards, you can make fall cards or bright non-fall leaf cards! I hope you enjoyed my cards and thank you so much for visiting. All the supplies I used and most of the supplies in the kit are listed below. Suzy
