Simon Says Stamp released some dies to go with some of Tim Holtz floral stamp sets in the Cheering For You release. One of these stamps is called French Gardens and now with a set of matching dies, it is sold as a French Gardens bundle. Here is an image:
I didn't have this stamp set, so I was really happy to get it with the matching dies when I received the Cheering For You release. I just got a time to use it, so here is my card:
I stamped the roses and leaves in the French Garden stamp set with Latte PSInk. I then colored them in with colored pencils. I didn't like the amount of black lines that were on the original stamps, so I wanted to try them as no-line images. But then I decided the black lines would have looked better, so I went back in with a fine tip black marker and added some lines! Typical me! But I do like that they are softer which is more my style. I'm not a grungy girl although I so admire people that are able to do that style! I colored them in with colored pencils, primarily Luminance this time. I used a white uniball for some lines on them. I die-cut them out with the matching dies.
For the background, I used one of the Gina K. Tiny Dots Polyglaze Hot Foiling Cards. I love this set as it is very subdued and makes a perfect background for ... flowers! I used Gina K. Gold Toner Foil and the Gina K. Fuse Machine to foil the card. I die-cut it with the SSS Basic Rectangle Die and attached it to a dark red card base. I then attached the roses and leaves using foam tape behind the top of each. I stamped a greeting from the Music stamp set that is also in the Cheering For You release with Intense Black Ink - I love this font so much! I attached it to the bottom of the flowers with foam tape behind it. I used some Starshine Confetti sequins around the flowers.
I love coloring flowers as you know, so this French Garden stamp set with matching dies by Tim Holtz/SSS was perfect for me! I am now about to color some of the other floral sets that had dies released with them in the Cheering For You release, so I'll have more of those to share with you this week. Thanks for visiting!
