My card today uses two of the products in the new SSS Cheering For You release. The first one is the Graceful Flowers stamp and die bundle which was in the August card kit (minus the dies). I've used it already on a slimline card when the kit was released using the long grouping of flowers. But I wanted to use the stand-a-lone flowers this time. I also used the new Arching Leaf Border Dies. I've used the leaves from this set, but this time I am using the frame. Here are images of both products (click on to link to the SSS store):
Here is my card:
I have a whole drawer of card backgrounds I have made and haven't used and I got lucky to find this watercolored background just waiting to be made into something pretty! I painted the background of a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper (because it is white) with Daniel Smith watercolors. Any watercolors will work. I just mixed pink and blue on each diagonal edge and brought them into the middle mixing them for purple. I attached this to a white card base. I then die-cut the Arching Leaf Border Die that is all one piece and attached it white as is to the background. I had plans to paint this beauty, but white just felt right for this card!
I stamped the stand-a-lone flowers in the Graceful Flowers stamp set twice each with black ink. I then colored them in with colored pencils. I like the lines the pencils left, so I didn't try to get rid of them this time (by blending a white pencil over them or using a Caran d'ache blending pencil or using a light Copic over them). This time, I left them grainy! I die-cut them out with the matching dies and attached them around the framed background. I then stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set and die-cut it out with the matching dies. I love that the font is very thin and graceful (Graceful Flowers - I just realized the name hahaha), but the dies cut them with lots of white around them so they stand out more. I attached it to the opening with foam tape behind it. I added some sequins around the flowers from several mixes I had with pinks, purples and whites.
I think I will send this graceful card made with the Graceful Flowers and Arching Leaf Border to someone graceful haha. I hope you enjoyed this card - see you soon! Suzy
