Simon Says Stamp Cheering For You Release: Fresh Blooms Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies.

The card I made today uses several new products from the SSS Cheering For You release. I used the Fresh Blooms embossing folder and cutting die because you know I can't resist coloring a floral anything (especially embossing folders). I also used the Music stamp and die set for the sentiment and the Pinpoint Circle die for the background. Here is an image of the embossing folder and cutting dies:

I first embossed the Fresh Blooms embossing folder using white cardstock. I then die-cut the two flowers and embossed those at the same time. I colored all of them in with Copic markers first and then used colored pencils to add shading. Now is when I admit the bad/real part. I messed it up so bad I couldn't save it this time. I do believe this is the first time I've given up and trashed a card after putting hours into coloring it. I always try to save them. But I outlined all of the images with a fine tip black pen and then it smeared so I used a white uniball over it all and it just turned into a big ugly mess. So this is take 2 which I did much faster (and left off the black lines!). I then cut around all of the images and glued the two die-cut flowers over the flowers on the embossing folder.

I wanted  to cut it out because I've never tried that before and there was a lot of white space around the flowers. I glued it to the Pinpoint Circle Die using white cardstock and attached it to a white card base. I stamped a sentiment using the Music stamp set and matching dies and black ink. I attached that to the bottom. I added some Amethyst Glitter Gems by Pink Fresh around the flowers.

This would have been a really quick card to make as my second time around, I had the swing of things and colored it quickly. But I will always hate it because it took so long and was so disappointing to throw the first one away. Insert sad face. Can I do that on a post???!!!
