I get so excited when Simon Says Stamp comes out with dies for Tim Holtz stamps. Especially when those are floral stamps! In the Sunny Vibes release, they added dies to four of his popular floral stamps that can be purchased alone (if you already had the stamp set) or as a bundle. I have a card to share today using the Floral Trims stamp and die bundle as shown here:
Here is my card:
I made the background for this card with the amazing Tim Holtz Distress Spritz sprays. I used Barn Door on plain white cardstock. After I sprayed it, I laid a patterned paper towel on top of it and pressed it down which imbedded the pattern slightly and also softened the spritz color. I love how much glimmer it has in real life! There are hues of both pinks, corals, and reds in it, so I colored my flowers in those colors. I attached it to a white card base. I stamped one of the two floral stamps in the Floral Trims stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I first colored it with Copic Markers. I then added a lot of shading with colored pencils. I then went back and added additional shading over the pencils with Copics haha. I love how they blend over the waxy finish of pencils and give me the really darks I'm always after in the shadows. I used a white uniball over some of the lighter areas and dipped my finger on it before it dried to lighten it a bit.
I die-cut the floral grouping out with the matching Floral Trims die and attached it to the front of the card. I had to trim a little off the bottom and the top. I used two different stamp sets from the Sunny Vibes release for my greetings. I stamped a large greetings from the Sunshine and Smiles stamp set using black ink and then die cut it out with the matching dies. I used the CZ Bad Day Good Vibes stamp set for the smaller greeting, stamping it with Watermelon PSInk and die-cutting it out using a Honeybee Sentiment Banner die. I attached the two sentiments on the right side of the card with foam tape beneath them. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiments.
It was fun getting back to making a card today after a two week visit from my daughter and two grand-sons. I should be blogging every day this week, so come back and visit! Suzy
