Today I have a card to share with you that I didn't actually COLOR with markers or pencils yay (shocking). I used the Lemon Tree Embossing Folder and Cutting Die from the SSS Sunny Vibes release. I knew I loved this embossing folder when I saw it, but I love it way more now that I've used it. Here is an image of it:
Here is my card:
I embossed the Lemon Tree Embossing Folder using white cardstock and running it through 3 times. I then die-cut the Cutting Dies that are included enough times to cover all of the citrus and then attached them all at one time to all of the citrus in the embossing folder. Because I was covering all of the citrus, I decided to use Pawsitively Saturated Inks to color this. Shocking, but true. I inked this entire thing (almost). I started by using the two lightest green inks (Sprout and Celery) and applied them to the background rotating the colors and overlapping them since one is more yellow using a Ranger Foam Applicator so it was soft coverage. I then used the new small Ranger foam applicators to apply the darker greens in the Trio to the leaves. I started with Lemonade and Zest on the citrus expecting them to be lemons, but I didn't like them, so I switched them to oranges. I liked the yellow as an undercoat though. I then applied some of the oranges over the yellows applying the darker orange to just the center and the edges of each. Last, (couldn't resist), I did add a little bit of shading with two orange Copics and one green Copics - so it wasn't much. I'm going to call this one colored with inks if that is ok with all of you haha.
I attached all of the citrus over the background with my Misti glue tool that I absolutely love and don't know how I ever lived without it. I would always forget to put the lid on my liquid glue and I would have to use a sharp pin to unplug it. But the glue tool has a pin in the lid that automatically keeps it from clogging. So cool. I then splattered white paint over the background. I applied a drop of Tonic Crystal Glaze to the center of each orange and then added some white glitter and flattened it with my finger so it wasn't a bubble of glitter. I stamped a sentiment from the Sunshine and Smiles stamp set with Intense Black Ink and then die-cut it out with the matching die. Note: I attached the entire stamp set to the top of my Misti and taped it in place so I could stamp all of the sentiments at one time in black and a coral which I used on another card. I love having sentiments already stamped and stamping them all at one time makes it so much easier! I added that to the center with foam tape behind it. I attached the entire thing to a white card base. I added three small sparkling clear sequins because that is just what I do on every card haha.
I hope you like my oranges on this card using ALL Pawsitively Saturated Inks and the Lemon Tree Embossing Folder and Cutting Die from the SSS Sunny Vibes release! I hope you all also have a great weekend and a good holiday next week! Suzy
I love this! I bought this embossing folder and was feeling clueless on how to best use it. Thanks!
