Today is the release of the new innovative product by Tim Holtz called Distress Spritz! There are 12 colors and you can see them all HERE in the Simon Says Stamp store. I got to play with them a bit yesterday and they are so pretty! I made a test page of each color and planned on linking them all for you, but it is impossible to show their beauty in a flat photo and I don't do videos, so I gave up! Instead I have a card to share with you today using two of the new colors. The stamp set I used on this card is from the Be Bold release and is called Pretty Petals. Here is an image of the stamp and die bundle:
I also used the new Star Lattice embossing folder that was just released as part of the July card kit (it is is the kit, but also sold separately). I love it! Here is an image:
And here is my card:
It's hard to get a good photo of the gorgeousness of these Distress Spritz sprays as they are very pearlescent. I sprayed all the colors yesterday as I mentioned on white cardstock to see what the colors were. I had already colored my flowers, so I wanted to make a background that matched. I tried both Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry and neither was quire right. So I sprayed Worn Lipstick first in a full coverage layer and let it dry (which is fast!) and then I sprayed some Picked Raspberry over it in a more blotchy coverage so it just lightly mixed together. And bam, they matched my background perfectly. I ran it through the new Star Lattice embossing folder and the embossing made the pearl colors even more effervescent. It is so very pretty in real life!!! I cut it down and attached it to a white card base.
I stamped the flowers and stems in the Pretty Petals stamp set with Latte PSInk for no line coloring. I wanted to color the petals even though the stamp set has flat stamps that are meant to ink the pretty flowers. I want to try them that way too, but for this card, I wanted the flowers really soft (and let's not kid anyone, I just love to color!). I colored them in with colored pencils and used a white Prismacolor pencil to blend and lighten the colors. It has such a waxy surface that it blends them really well. I die-cut them out with the matching Pretty Petals dies. I arranged them on my background with foam tape below just the flowers. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with black ink and die cut it out with the matching dies. I attached it to the bottom of my stems with foam tape behind it. I added three sparkling clear sequins around it.
These new Tim Holtz Distress Spritz sprays are so pretty and a must have for any Distress lover! You can get the entire bundle of all 12 colors HERE. I can't wait to play with them more and get to know how they work as I just tried them straight on white cardstock. But they are also designed to go over inks and other products. I can't wait to see what all the designers did with them when Tim goes live at 9:00 today to announce them. I hope you enjoyed this card using the Pretty Petals stamp set. Thanks for visiting! Suzy
Beautiful card Suzy!!
