I'm sure most of you have seen the new Tim Holtz Distress Spritz! sprays. I used them on a post a couple days ago and have tried all of the colors out. They are so pretty and after watching his video introducing them, I can't wait to play with them some more. Today I have a card that uses the same two colors I used on my last post HERE the day they were released. I can't deny I have a love affair with pink! I used an older set by Simon Says Stamp for my card today called Freestyle Flowers. Here is an image:
This set was designed before most stamps had dies to go with them, so I did have to do a lot of fussy cutting today. But Tim Holtz came to the rescue again! He recently released some new scissors which I was desperately in need of. There is a small pair called the Mini Recoil Snips that made the fussy cutting really easy and precise. They come with two sizes of springs so you can make sure the grip is best for your hand size and they don't hurt to cut with at all! Here is my card:
I made the background with two colors of the new Tim Holtz Distress Spritz sprays: Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick. I first sprayed a piece of white cardstock with Worn Lipstick so it was entirely colored. Then I did a very light misting of Picked Raspberry since it is darker and more pink pink. These things dry so quickly! I ran it through the Streaming Embossing Folder. I cut it down a little and attached it to a white card base. I die-cut a circle from white cardstock and attached that to the top center. I stamped a sentiment from the Freestyle Flowers stamp set in the center of the circle using Carnation PSInk first and then Guava PSInk second. The mix of the two colors matched the background perfectly!
I stamped the wreath once and all of the individual flowers and leaves two times each using Latte PSInk. I colored them in with colored pencils. I always use a white Prismacolor Pencil over all my colors to blend and soften them. I fussy cut them all out using the Tim Holtz Mini Recoil Snips scissors as mentioned earlier. I cut apart the flowers in the wreath as well as my circle was bigger than the wreath. I arranged them all around the circle overlapping them and only gluing them down in the center. I added some Nuvo Drops to the center of the flowers and some sparkling clear sequins around the wreath.
I really think the Distress Spritz sprays make this card as the background is so shimmery! I just love how it looks embossed. I love this Freestyle Flowers stamp set and I also love the Floral Garden stamp set and the So Beautiful cling stamp as they all 3 have very whimsical drawn flowers (probably by the same illustrator, but I'm not sure who). Here are the cards I recently posted using those two stamps:
