I would love to say what release the two stamp sets I'm using today were in, but I have no idea! I do know that they are both still in stock though, so that's a good thing! For today's card, I used the Sunflower Garden stamp set and the CZ Beachy Keen stamp set and matching dies. Here is an image of both of these sets:
Sunflower Garden also has a set of matching Sunflower Garden dies, but I didn't use them on my card today. I did just now find a photo under the stamp set with 5 images I made with this set and I didn't even know I had done them! haha I did a guest "one stamp, five ways" post on the SSS Blog using this stamp set back in 2021, so it is a few years old! Here is a link to that blog post.
This Beachy Keen set is sold as a bundle as seen here or there is just a Beachy Keen stamp set or just a Beachy Keen set of dies. I love all of the sentiments in this set and used them often when it was first released. It seemed like a perfect fit for the sunflowers I colored today! Here is my card:
I wanted to use the full stamp design, so I stamped it on a 5"x7" piece of white cardstock using Latte PSInk. I then colored it in with colored pencils. I then went back in with a couple of Copics for details. I used a dark brown for the spots in the center of the flowers. I use this ugly Spanish Olive color that I never thought I would use, but it matched the leaves perfectly, so I added shadows to them in the dark areas. I then used a lighter green to blend those colors into the pencils. Since they have a waxy finish, it's easy to use Copics over them and move them around/blend them in. I pulled some of the green colors out into the background using the lighter color. When it goes over the darker olive, it brings that color out with it. I also used a darker Sepia color to add some shading to the inside of the petals and a light yellow around the flowers in the background.
I die-cut two sets of frames using the NEW A7 Nesting Frame Dies. I didn't cut them apart, so I have frames between each die that are the same size as the frames in the dies. I combined two together for the outside of the card in an olive green and yellow cardstock. I glued them over my daisy design and then attached the entire thing to a buttery yellow card base. I stamped a sentiment from the CZ Beachy Keen stamp set with Honey PSInk. I think it looks a little light in my photos, so I probably should have stamped it twice. I die-cut it out with the matching dies. I love this sentiment and have used it so many times! I added some white dots from the Rainbow Splash Drop Assortment Stickers around the sentiment.
Just another day. Just another colored flower card! Thank you to MaryAnne for leaving me blog comments. I love knowing someone is reading my blog and I don't check stats so I never really know if anyone sees my posts (except you Beth! haha). MaryAnne came up to me at Create and told me she loves my cards and reads my blog all the time. I was so excited because I now know I have two blog readers!!! And she has left me a few comments recently, so I feel very validated, like I am inspiring someone over here!!! Thanks for visiting to anyone else that is visiting and have a great day Beth Opel and MaryAnne! Suzy
