Today is the release of the SSS June 2024 Card Kit called Sweet Birthday! It is a kit full of colorful fun products to create birthday cards with, which we never have enough of! Here is an image of the kit in full:
It includes the 6x8" stamp set that is also called Sweet Birthday that can be purchased alone. It also includes the Sweet Birthday single cupcake dies which has dies for the candles and one of the cupcakes in the stamp set. You can purchase two other sets of dies as well called Sweet Birthday More Treats and Sweet Birthday Words dies. And if you want the stamp set and ALL the dies together, there is a Sweet Birthday stamp and die bundle. There is also a Birthday Wishes die and a Winslow Medallions Embossing Folder in the kit which can both be purchased seperately. There are 3 Tim Holtz Watercolor Pencils in the kit which I didn't use on my 3 cards, but I did use at my booth at CREATE and they are so fun to use! Here are my 3 cards:
This card is my "random stamping" technique using the cupcakes in the Sweet Birthday stamp set. I stamped them with Latte PSInk for no-line coloring and colored them all in with a mix of colored pencils. The pencils were easy to color them with since there are a lot of lines in the frosting and I could just outline them over the Latte Ink with the color I was using. I added some texture/shading to the cupcake wrappers with the pencils. I've been binge watching the Kids Baking Competition seasons for the past few weeks, so this stamp set was perfect to color while my mouth was already watering for sweet treats!
I die-cut this piece with the A2 Thin Frame Die and mounted it on a light blue card base. I stamped two of the sentiments in the stamp set which all work together and can be mixed and matched. I used Surf PSInk on the top one and Carnation PSInk on the bottom one on SSS Sentiment Label Dies. I just trimmed them down and added them to the bottom of the card with foam tape behind the bottom one. I added some Pink Fresh Teal Glitter Drops around the cupcakes to fill in open spots.
The kit contains 6x6" papers from the Pink Fresh Studio Picture Perfect paper pad. That line is SO cute and you can see the entire Picture Perfect line HERE. I loved these papers so much that I wanted to use them on all of my cards (but I resisted). I cut this one to fit on a standard white card base since it was my favorite paper in the pad. I die-cut the Birthday Wishes die in the kit from the A2 Holographic Lava Cardstock in the kit and also from another piece of the Pink Fresh paper. I glued the pink letters over the silver background and attached that to the bottom of my card with foam tape beneath it.
I stamped several of the images in the Sweet Birthday stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I colored them in with Copic Markers and colored pencils for shading. I used a white Uniball to add lines to the lollipops and then Glossy Accents (or Tonic Crystal Glaze can't remember) over them for shine. I die-cut all of these images with the matching dies (some in the kit and some in the additional pack of dies that I had). I attached them to the front of the card using foam tape behind the top of the lollipops for dimension.
The background of this card uses the SSS Basic Rectangle Die and another one of the cute Pink Fresh patterned papers in the kit. I attached it to a white card base. I then embossed the confetti stamp in the Sweet Birthday stamp set multiple times on the background with white embossing powder.
I stamped the first sentiment on a Honeybee Sentiment Banner with Mist PSInk. I stamped the Happy Birthday with Peony PSInk on white cardstock and fussy cut around the words. I stamped the cupcake parts with Intense Black ink and colored them in with Copics first and added some shading with pencils. I die-cut them out and attached the 3 cupcakes to the top of the card with foam tape behind the frosting. I love that the stamp set lets you mix and match the tops and bottoms. I added the two sentiment to the bottom with foam tape behind happy birthday. s
This Sweet Birthday! card kit is so me with the beautiful colors, darling Sweet Birthday stamp set, and the pretty Pink Fresh papers. And then there is my deep love of sweets! I didn't get a chance to use the Winslow Medallions embossing folder on any of these cards, but I did emboss it on the A2 Holographic Lava paper and it looks so pretty! I also embossed it on white cardstock and tried the technique of applying PSInks to the lowered portions and then rubbing black ink over the entire thing and it worked perfectly! I'll be using those on other cards in the near future. Thanks for visiting today and it was SOOOO NICE TO MEET SOME OF YOU and see some of my regulars at the CREATE event! Suzy
Suzy, your coloring is just amazing! You made the cupcakes look so yummy! I LOVE watching all of the baking competitions!
