My card today uses two products from Simon Says Stamp. One is older called the Delicate Flowers stamp set and it is one of my top 3 favorite stamps ever by SSS. The other is a new product that I have been dying to use called the Half Spring Floral Mandala Die (Splendor Release). Here is an image of the stamp set:
I recently organized all of my stamp sets by Simon and organized them by subject. I went through the florals the other day and pulled out several of my all time favorites. I could use this one over and over! Here is my card:
I first stamped the flower and the two leaf sprigs with Latte PSInk on white cardstock. I then colored them in with a mix of colored pencils. I use Caran d'Ache Luminance, Polychromos by Faber Castle, and Prismacolor. I go over the lightest areas with a white Prismacolor as the wax mixes the other colors. I fussy cut these out as there weren't dies for all stamp sets a few years ago.
I die-cut the Half Spring Floral Mandala Die from white cardstock twice. Once I die-cut it from a piece of 5.5x4.25" cardstock so I had the left side piece from that. I glued the two together and then attached the side panel first to a pink card base. I then attached just the inside edges of the doubled mandala. I die-cut two SSS Sentiment Labels (from older sets) using the Honeybee Sentiment Banner Dies and the SSS Sentiment Label Dies. I attached the flower first with foam tape beneath it. I then tucked the two leaves underneath the foam tape, but left the rest unattached. I attached the two sentiment with foam tape below them to the bottom I added a few sparkling clear sequins around the sentiments.
I love finding older favorite stamp sets to work with again like this Delicate Flowers one and I also love combining them with new products like the Half Spring Floral Mandala Die (which is so pretty!). I hope you enjoyed this card and have a great weekend! Suzy
