Today we are back to an "elderly" flower stamp for my card that I have colored over the long weekend! I used the Cosmos Bloom Cling Stamp from a couple years ago with a newer stamp set for the greeting called the Bold Smiles Greeting Stamp. Here is an image of the Cosmos Bloom Cling Stamp:
And here is an image of the Bold Smiles Greeting stamp. Whenever I use a greeting stamp, I end up stamping the entire thing because it is easy if you just attach the plastic piece to your Misti and stamp them all at once. For these, I used black ink and clear embossing powder over them, so you will be seeing them on a bunch of my upcoming cards! I can't believe I haven't used this set yet as it is so cute!
Here is my card:
I stamped the Cosmos Bloom cling stamp on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I colored it in with Colored Pencils first and then I used some dark Copic Markers to add shading on just the inside of the flower. I used a white pencil to go over the center of the leaves so it was lighter. After that, I felt like the black lines didn't show up enough, so I reoutlined them with a fine tip black Micron. I used a White Uniball over the center circles of the flowers and then a yellow glitter pen over the white so it popped more.
I die-cut this piece out with the A2 Thin Frame Dies and attached it to a white card base. I then stamped the greeting using the Bold Smiles stamp set with Intense Black Ink and Embossing it with clear embossing powder. I die-cut it out with the matching dies and attached it to the bottom of the card with foam tape behind it. I added some Rainbow Splash Drop Sticker Assortment and some Black Board Vintage Nuvo Drops around the flowers (to look like I splattered ink over them which I'm always too scared to do!).
I'll be back tomorrow with another flower card using a floral stamp set from a couple years ago. I like mixing the older and the new as I've said many times so I get more use out of all of my stamp sets! Thanks for visiting and I hope this card using the Cosmos Bloom cling stamp motivates you to get out and smell the flowers more! Suzy
