I dug into my SSS Celebrate and Be Bold release dies today and I made three cards! I often forget about dies in my love of stamps and coloring. But dies can make such beautiful cards when ink blended and they come in flowers! The card I'm sharing today primarily uses the Daisy Oval Frame Die from the Celebrate Release. Here is am image:
Here is my card:
I made the background for the card with the SSS Streaming Embossing Folder from the Be Bold release. I used a light blue cardstock to emboss it. I then rubbed a SSS White Ink pad over it. I slightly trimmed the edges and also inked them edges. I attached it to a white card base. I die-cut two sets of all the elements in the Daisy Oval Frame Die. I didn't cut out the frames from the inside of it so they would die-cut all the pieces as shown perfectly spaced. I used white cardstock for everything so I could ink it all with PSInks.
I inked the two frames with Butter PSInk using the Tim Holtz Mini Foam Applicators. I use them for everything now as I love the soft application they give you and I have a heavy hand! I blocked the areas where the leaves and flower were. I then applied Sprout PSInk to the leaves blocking off the yellow area, but not the flower as I didn't care since I attached a flower over it. I glued all of the frame pieces to the card in white first, not popping out any elements. T/hen I applied the frames popping out the scallops, dots, and leaves. I inked two of the flower with Carnation Ink after removing the center pieces. I inked the inside portion of the leaves and two of the individual leaves with Sprout Ink. I inked the center of the flowers with Butter Ink. I inked the small flowers with Marine and Seafoam ink. I inked some of the flower centers with Carnation Ink so I could use them for the small dots. I glued all of these pieces in place over the first white frame. I then die-cut the Fancy Mom Die twice and inked one with Carnation Ink and glued it over the other one. I attached them to the top of the oval. I stamped a sentiment from an older stamp set I had in my "mother's day" box called Mom's Spring Flowers using Marine Ink very lightly and then Seafoam Ink over that. I added some Lucy's small white and blue pearls to the center of the blue flowers and inside by the sentiment.
This card is a bit out of my comfort zone as I don't consider myself an expert with ink-blending or die-cutting! I hope you enjoyed it. I do love this Daisy Oval Frame Die and think it could be used in lots of different ways. I love how it comes with the extra flowers to use on other cards. Thanks for visiting! I'm off to the SSS Create event on Wednesday so say hi if you can and stop by my watercoloring booth! Suzy
