I'm on a streak lately! I made another card today with no flowers! In fact, I made a card today with no stamping (unless we count the sentiment)! But I did die-cut, emboss, stencil, and ink blend, so lots of techniques were used! I used a couple of new products from the SSS Celebrate Release: the Whirl Butterflies and the Feather Spiral Embossing Folder. Here are images (click on them to go to the SSS store):
Here is my card:
I have seen these Whirl Butterflies used quite a bit and I was looking forward to trying them out. I used the Mosaic Tulips stencil to make a background to die-cut the butterflies from. I used Guava, Surf, and Zest PSInks. I die-cut two small and one large butterfly from this piece. I then embossed the new Feather Spiral embossing folder from white cardstock twice. I used Tim Holtz Blending Foam to apply ink to them so it was very soft and only attached to the raised areas. I rubbed Zest ink on one and then Surf Ink on the other. I cut 2/3rds of the aqua one and attached it over the yellow one. I attached these pieces to a white cardstock card base.
I found an old piece of trim in white and I attached that over the line between the two colors. I used glue dots behind each circle. I then tied a piece of pink twine over it. I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Celestial Wishes stamp set from the last card kit using Guava PSInk. I used the Celestial Wishes dies to die-cut it out and I attached two together so it had more depth. I attached that to the bottom of the card. I attached the three butterflies to the top of the card gluing down just the center so I could push the wings up. I added some small gems from the Rainbow Gem stickers to the center of each.
I love this card using products from the new Celebrate Release. I have to say, it is easier creating cards without a bunch of coloring as this one only took about an hour compared to my usual four hours haha. I love these Whirl Butterflies against the Feather Spiral embossing folder. How gorgeous is that embossing folder?!!! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
