I'm continuing my daily flower coloring, so I hope you aren't getting bored of my flower cards! Maybe the start of spring and my own flowers all blooming has me in this mood. Today it was roses and while I was talking to my mom who is 91 and mainly bedridden, she told me that all of her roses are blooming. She loved gardening for most of her life and I feel so bad that she isn't able to go out and see them anymore. I told her I was coloring roses right that minute and I promised to send the card to her (as I do almost all of my flower cards haha). Thus I combined the flowers with the All About Mom stamp set by SSS that was released maybe last year with lots of loving motherly greetings. Here is the SSS stamp set and the flower stamp I used by Colorado Craft Company called Rose Background:
Here is my card:
When I saw this Rose Background stamp set by Colorado Craft Company at Simon Says Stamp, I had to buy it. So many delicious roses to color! I stamped them with Latte PSInk on white cardstock. And I colored them in with just colored pencils this time. I left the Copics alone as I wanted to see if I liked just pencils again. To blend the colors, I used either a white or light pink waxy pencil (such as prismacolor) over the coloring or I used a blender pencil by Caran d'ache. I usually leave a white area uncolored in the center of a petal and then the light pencil blends the color from both edges into the center. Then I go back with a really sharp pencil and add some lines for the look of shading.
Once I was done coloring it, I adhered it to a white card base. No die-cutting it so it was matted by a red card base. I resisted. No frame added to the front. I resisted! I used the All About Mom stamp set planning on using the Happy Mother's Day greeting, but I loved all the mom greeting options in it for any time of year. So I picked this one to remind my mom that she is beautiful as she loves to make fun of how wrinkling she is getting and how my dad is probably looking down on her from heaven and laughing (so bad I know, but she is funny). I used a dark pink embossing powder and attached the greeting with foam tape to the bottom center of the card. I added three sparkling clear sequins and called it done!
Tomorrow night I'll be blogging a new product release, so no more flowers for a while as I focus on the new release. Thanks for putting up with all my coloring - it's been fun! See you soon! Suzy
