I'm still working through the new SSS Be Bold Release embossing folders because floral embossing folders are my favorite thing to color! Today I have a card to share with you using the new Cherry Blossom Embossing Folder and Cutting Die. I mistakenly didn't look at the name before I colored it, so it does NOT look like cherry blossoms and I didn't use the cutting dies for my card. I want to make a second card with it now, doing justice to the type of flower it is suppose to be! Here is an image:
And here is my card:
I embossed the Cherry Blossom Embossing Folder with white cardstock. I then colored it with Copic Markers. I used butter yellow, pink, and a sky blue for the flowers, using two shades of each color for shading. It went pretty quick because I didn't shade a lot. I used a black fine tip Micron pen to add the black centers. Once I did that, the black looked kind of stark and I had mistakes in my coloring, so I went with a black background. I used a black Copic to color it, but when I was close to the flowers, I used the black Micron so I didn't get black on the flowers. Last I added some white lines with a white Uniball to tie in the white card base.
I used the new A2 Nesting Frame Dies for the frame. I've been using these on every card I make lately! I said on two other posts not to cut them apart, so I'll mention it here too. You get twice as many frames, all the same size if you don't cut the dies apart. I used the second largest SSS Basic Rectangle Die to cut it down so it fit on a white card base with the same amount of white showing as the frame width. I embossed a sentiment using the Wild and Free Flower stamp set which was in the March card kit and was sold in the Be Bold Release. I used gold embossing powder and die-cut it out with the matching dies. This stamp set has SO MANY greeting options and I love the font. The second greeting is also from the set and I stamped it on a SSS Sentiment Label Die with Intense Black Ink. Last I added some Moonshine Sparkling Clear Sequins.
Another day, another embossing folder to color haha. I'm actually going a different direction now although there are still a couple more I could color from the Be Bold Release. You can see all of the SSS Embossing Folders HERE. This Cherry Blossom Embossing Folder and Cutting Die made the cutest card ever by Laura Bassen where she used just the die-cut embossed flowers as a rainbow background. I can't wait to use the flowers for another card. Thanks so much for stopping by! Suzy
