Today is the SSS BE BOLD Release which is full of beautiful spring flowers and stamp sets to get you ready for colorful and warm days ahead! There are so many beautiful products in this release, so I've already created with quite a few of them. You can see the entire Be Bold Release HERE. There will be a two day blog hop on Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd. I'll be part of day one, so come back and visit! I have a card to share with you today using the Branching Flowers Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies. Considering I love flowers and I think these EF and Cutting Dies are the most innovative and cool product out there right now, I had a fun time coloring ALL of them in this release. Here is an image of this Branching Flowers EF and CD:
I saw a couple cards in the new release inspiration using JUST the flowers in the embossing folders and cutting dies. I had never thought of that, but I think it's a great idea. For my card, I used the embossing folder for the background and then die-cut the four flowers included and embossed those to use over the ones on the background. Here is my card:
I embossed the Branching Flowers Embossing Folder with white cardstock running it through 3 times for an extra raised image. I then die-cut the four flowers from white cardstock and attached all four to the inside of the embossing folder and ran it through 3 times again. Next, I started the fun part - the coloring. I used a combination of Copics and colored pencils. I like coloring the flowers with light shade of Copics and then going back in with pencils in the little grooves to add shading. Then I went in with some darker Copics to add more shading around the pencil lines. I kept the flowers really light on the edges. I outlined the leaves and all of the lines inside them with a colored pencil first and then colored over it with Copics. I just used Copic Markers on the branches.
I attached the flowers to the background with foam tape behind them for more depth. I attached it to a white cardstock card base. I stamped a sentiment from the new Pretty Petals stamp set, stamping it with Carnation Ink. I die-cut it out with the matching Pretty Petals Dies. I attached it to the top right of the card with foam tape beneath it. I added some Pawsitively Dazzling Gems in Taffy and Rainbow.
Check out the SSS Be Bold Gallery to see all of the creations using the new Be Bold Release in one place. You can also go to the products themselves and see many examples using each product. I'll be back tomorrow, Friday March 22nd for the first day of the blog hop. Hope to see you then! Suzy
