Simon Says Stamp has a new release called Be Bold that is full of spring products. You can see lots of inspiration from the release on the banner above. I have a card to share with you today using several products in this release including the stamp set that was part of the April Card Kit which is sold as a Wild and Free Flowers stamp and die bundle, the A2 Nesting Frames, the Streaming Embossing Folder, and the Airy Greetings stamp and die set. Here are images of these 4 products (click on product image to get to the item in the SSS store):
Here is my card using these products:
I made the background using the Streaming Embossing Folder. I love white backgrounds for my cards, but I like them to have a subtle texture or design. This one is perfect for card backgrounds! I embossed it using white cardstock and attached it to a white card base. I die-cut a frame using the new A2 Nesting Frames Dies. Very important note: Do Not Cut Your Dies Apart! I cut the two largest dies off the others to use separately. I realized which I die-cut the remainder that the space between the dies is the exact same size as the frames themselves. Thus you get twice as many frames as you see in every single size (great for nesting!). I can still do this, but it's hard to position them perfectly so the sizes are all the same size. I die-cut the second largest frame from Gold Matte Cardstock and glued it to the front of the card.
I stamped the floral grouping using the Wild and Free stamp set and Latte Ink. I colored it in with Copic Markers (laying a base coat of light colors) and colored pencils (adding texture and details). I die-cut it out with the matching dies. I attached it to the center of the card with foam tape behind it. I embossed a sentiment using the new Airy Greetings stamp set and die-cut it out with the matching Airy Greetings Dies using gold embossing powder. These dies are great as they are perfect for any of your sentiment strips - just the right size for many greetings. I didn't use the flat stamps on this card although they work great to add color under a sentiment. I attached it to the top and the bottom tucking it under the flower. Last I added a few gold gems around the flowers.
I blogged another card using the new release yesterday. You can see the blog post with directions for this card HERE. I used the Branching Flowers embossing folder and cutting dies and the Pretty Petals stamp and dies for the sentiment.

Thank you for the tip of not cutting apart the dies... no more taping down the dies and then tearing my paper.
