Today is the Simon Says Stamp Splendor Release full of Spring products. I have a few projects to share with you using the release, so I will post one a day for the next few days. There is a two day blog hop coming up and I'll be part of day 1 on Friday, February 16th. I used a bunch of the new products on my project I'm sharing today. I used the Gift Bag Dies and the Mix and Match Butterflies primarily, so here are images of those two products:
Here is my gift bag:
I've always been intimidated by dies that create 3D type projects - no idea why. And it was so easy to do! I die-cut the Gift Bag die twice from 49 & Market blue floral paper (their paper is thick like cardstock). I then glued the pieces together with sticky tape. I embossed the new Neatly Knitted Embossing Folder from white cardstock. I then inked it with the new Trio 27 inks which are butter yellow. I die-cut it also from the same Gift Bag Die. I attached it to the inside of the back and bottom of the bag where it would show.
I then die-cut a bunch of the small flowers in the Simple Flowers Dies. I also die-cut the flower centers in the new Fine Floral Stem Dies. I inked them all with Carnation Ink and Peony Ink. I used the new Tim Holtz Tiny Blending Tools. I used the new Trio 27 inks for the center of the flowers. I glued them all together and attached them over the front of the bag. I then added a bunch of the new gemstones in between them. I stamped a butterfly using the Mix and Match Butterflies stamp set and Latte Ink. I colored it in with colored pencils. I attached the butterfly to the top of the bag. I added lots more of the new gemstones to the butterfly wings.
I sent this in to SSS to use for the banner photography, so I didn't get to take very many pictures of it. I wanted to fill it with easter grass and easter candy. I'll have to make myself another one for my grandkids. I can think of all kinds of options for using this Gift Bag Die as it is the perfect size for little gifts or even gift cards! You can see the entire Splendor release HERE. All of the products I used in this post are in the supply list below. Thank you so much for stopping by and see you Friday for the blog post! Suzy
