Today is the first day of a two day blog hop celebrating the SSS Splendor Release that is full of beautiful spring products (my favorite season and colors!). I have a card to share with you today that uses quite a few of the new products. I'll post the blog hop details at the end of this post.
Yesterday I shared a box I made using the new Gift Bag Wafer Die. I added a bunch of die-cut flowers to the front of it with the Simple Flowers wafer dies. I used the Neatly Knitted Embossing Folder for the iniside. I attached a butterfly to the handle with the Mix and Match Butterflies stamp and matching die set. You can see the blog post with directions for this little container HERE.
Today I have a card to share with you that is in the upper left corner of the banner at the top of this page! I used the new Neatly Knitted Embossing Folder, the Perched Whirl Bird die, the Fine Floral Stem dies, the Easter Peeps stamp set, and the new Trio 27 ink pads. Here is my card:
I used the new Neatly Knitted Embossing Folder for the background of my card. I love subtle designs on white for backgrounds, so this embossing folder is perfect for me! I trimmed it down and attached it to a yellow cardstock card base. I then die-cut the Fine Floral Stem Die set twice from white cardstock. I used the new Tim Holtz Tiny Foam Applicators with the Trio 27 butter yellow inks for the flowers and Trio 2 for the stems and leaves. I used Carnation and Peony Inks for the center of the flowers. I die-cut the Perched Whirl Bird Die from white cardstock. I applied Marine PSInk very lightly to the wing and the top half of the bird and a little Latte on his underside. I colored the legs and beak dark orange with a Copic.
I arranged the flowers over the background first. I had to overlap them and pull one flower through the other stems and then I used foam tape behind those that appeared to be in the foreground. I also used foam tape behind the bird on the bottom. I stamped a sentiment using the Easter Peeps stamp set (cut it in half) on a small banner using the SSS Sentiment Label dies. I attached that to the bottom. Last I added some of the new Sunbeam Dazzling Gems to the bird's eye and around the background.
