I recently saw a card by Laura Bassen on Instagram and thought it was the cutest thing ever! It used the SSS Bold Scandinavian Wafer Dies from the Diecember 2023 release. I realized I had never used them and from the packaging, I didn't realize how cute they would be in use! Thankfully Laura inspired me as I love these so much! Here is an image of the packaging:
Here is my card:
I have a big baggie of leftover scraps from paper I have watercolored. I didn't know what to do with them all, but saved them in case they would ever come in handy! I pulled them all out and used them to die-cut a bunch of each of the dies in this Bold Scandinavia Dies. I used Nuvo Shimmer Powders for a lot of my scraps. There were some regular watercolored scraps and even a few that were made with alcohol ink (the yellows).
I wanted to make my card 5x7" so I could fit more of the flowers on them. I layered quite a few die-cuts for each flower and I still have a bunch more I die-cut! I guess I'll make a second card! I attached the die-cut images for each flower and attached them to the top of the card. I used foam tape behind the two smaller ones. I added all the stems and leaves below them using foam tape on some of the leaves.
I stamped a sentiment using the Printmaking Hearts stamp set with black ink on a SSS Sentiment Label Die. I matted the sentiment and the card front with Rainbow Splash Lake cardstock (the perfect blue). I added some Rainbow Splash Drop Assortment stickers in white to the center of the flowers and in clear on the leaves.
I want to reiterate (again) that I love these Bold Scandinavian wafer dies. Whimsical is my favorite style. I didn't realize how incredibly cute they would be die-cut out and layered like this. It was fun to use up so many of my scraps too! This would work well with cardstock or patterned paper scraps too! Thanks so much for visiting today! Suzy
