One of the products in the SSS DieCember 2023 release is NOT holiday themed (although I could have made a holiday card with it!). I broke out though and made a very springy card to share today. Back to my bright colors and my favorite season of card making. The dies in the Aurora Blooms Die set could be used or any season and have so much possibility. I love that you could die-cut them out of colored cardstock, or color them yourself like I did. Here is an image of the Aurora Blooms Wafer Dies:
Here is my (very springy) card!
For the background of this card, I embossed the Woven Embossing Folder also from the DieCember release. It's subtle left all in white, but gives that little bit of detail that makes the flowers pop. It reminds me of a basket holding the flowers. I attached it to a white card base.
I die-cut all of the dies in the Aurora Blooms Wafer Dies from white cardstock. I then colored them all with Copic Markers. I mostly followed the diagram above of the flowers for how I layered them/put them together. I used colored pencils to add a little bit of shading in the lines on the dies. I arranged all of the big flowers and leaves on the front of the card and then started blueing them down in just their centers or edges. I then filled in all of the open areas with some of the smaller flowers and the little stems with yellow flowers on the ends. My bouquet kind of grew! I bent all the edges up so it looked more dimensional.
Last, I added a sentiment. I keep all of my stamped sentiments that I didn't use in a little container. It makes it easy to just go through it and try different ones on the card. I used this "with thanks" from the Artsy Pumpkins stamp and die. I stamped it with Watermelon Pawsitiely Saturated Ink and attached it to the bottom of the card. I arranged it so the yellow flower was right above the i. Then I went crazy with my Rainbow Splash rhinestone gem stickers using them in the center of all of the flowers and then on the small stems. They added so much to the card.
Like I said above, these Aurora Blooms wafer dies could work for any occasion or all occasions! I'm tempted to use them for a holiday card now just to show their versatility. There are so many flowers and layers and leaves in the set that you could arrange them in lots of different ways as well. I hope you enjoyed this card which steps away from the holidays for a minute. Thanks so much for stopping by! Suzy
Love the colors!
