Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Collaboration Stamp Set: Waffle Flower "Galina's Snowflakes"

Today there are two SSS STAMPtember collaboration stamp sets. One is with Trinity Stamps called Sledding Gnomes and you can see my blog post for that one HERE. The other is Waffle Flower and is called Galina's Snowflakes stamp set. It can also be purchased as a bundle with a set of matching dies as shown here:

Here is my card. I went a little rogue as I always use white for my snowflakes. Not sure I love it. You can decide. It did take guts haha. 

I started with a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper cut to standard card size. I then painted it with Nuvo Shimmer Powder. I used a mix of Cherry Bomb, Blue Blitz, and Violet Brocade. I left some areas white. I love shimmer powder so much and I always have some backgrounds I've made on hand for future cards. I just happened to have this one and was happy to finally put it to good use! I die-cut it with an A2 Thin Frame Die and attached it to a white card base.

I was going to go with white embossing powder. I had a blue glitter embossing powder from many eons ago (Stampin' Up!!!) that I decided to try instead. I stamped all of the snowflakes in the set except the largest one randomly over the watercolored background. I ended up really liking the blue. There is a WOW Pea Coat Glitter Embossing Powder that looks to be a similar color. 

I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with the same embossing powder on white cardstock and cut around it. I attached that to the center of the card with foam tape behind it. I then added some white paint dots around the background. Last, I added Pink Fresh Glitter Drops in Lagoon, Amethyst, and Magenta, filling in any open areas on the background. 

This isn't your typical snowflake card, but even though it is really bright, I kind of like it. I think this Waffle Flower Galina's Snowflakes stamp set is really pretty and you can also purchase it in a Galina's Snowflakes bundle with matching dies.
