Today's SSS STAMPtember collaboration stamp set is with THE Altenew who I think is one of everyone's favorite stamp companies. For a girl that loves flowers, they are one of the top of the top if not the top. The set that created for STAMPtember is called Rose Reverie. Here is an image of the Rose Reverie set that comes with dies:
Here is my card. And you can guaratee I colored it. But guess what? I went back to my beloved pencils. Well partly. Lucy (my pup) ate BOTH of my new white Prismacolors which I use on everything to blend and lighten colors. Not a happy puppy mom. Not to mention what it might do to her insides.
I stamped the Altenew Rose Reverie stamp with Latte PSInk on white cardstock for no-line coloring. I also stamped the butterfly. I first colored the image with Copics in fairly light colors. I then went back in and added shading and details with colored pencils. I love blending the two together as pencils give me the shading I want and Copics give me the lights that I want. I use a black fine tip pen and black colored pencil for the flower centers (not sure this is how they should look or what color they are supposed to be!). I always outline my images with pencils because I need outlines! And then I use a white Uniball on the edges of the petals and before it is dry, I dab it with my finger so it is lighter. I used a pink glitter pen on the butterfly wings.
I used a few Rainbow Splash products for the background. I first embossed the Swiss Dot embossing folder. These folders are 2 dimensional instead of 3 dimensional like most SSS embossing folders. This means the price is better! I've wanted a Swiss Dot embossing folder for so long, so when this one came out I was super excited and will probably use it on many of my cards! I colored all of the little dots with a Copic. This sounds labor intensive, but it's quick as you just dab the tip on the dot until it lets out enough ink to cover the circle.
I die-cut the embossed cardstock with an A2 Thin Frame Die and matted it on a card base using the Rainbow Splash Princess cardstock. I was so excited to see this color! I need to order lots of it as it is perfect for all my bright pink cards! I attached the flower using foam tape (BTW, I positioned it first so I didn't color the dots behind it!). I then stamped a sentiment from the set on a small banner die with Intense Black Ink and added that to the top right. I then put the butterfly on the top right over the greeting. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the flowers.
I love ALL Altenew stamp sets, but I think this Rose Reverie stamp set is just beautiful and don't forget, it also comes as a bundle with a set of matching dies. Thanks for visiting today.
