Today there are THREE SSS STAMPtember COLLABORATIONS: My Favorite Things, Hero Arts, and Pretty Pink Posh. You can see the MFT release blog post HERE and the Hero Arts blog post HERE. This post is about the Pretty Pink Posh release which is called the Peace on Earth stamp set or the Peace on Earth bundle with dies as shown here:
Here is my card and guess what? It's NOT a slimline! But it is a shaker which I seem to be doing a lot also!!!
I was recently at the SSS headquarters for a STAMPtember kick off meeting. Nina Trapini taught a make-n-take type class on hot foiling. We made several samples with hot foil and deco foil learning the differences of when you use a laminator and when you use a hot-foiling machine. It was very educational. One of the samples I made was this background which was made with the Gina K. Designs Tiny Dots Poly-Glaze Foiling Sheets. I love this design and the pack comes with 10 that you can use all different colors of DecoFoil with! I used Thermoweb Turquoise Sea foil. It made such a pretty background for just THIS card! I needed a laminator type machine for this one.
I stamped all of the images in the stamp set with Latte PSInk on white cardstock and colored the globe in with Copic markers. I used colored pencils for the small branches and hearts as well as the doves and the banner. I stamped and colored multiples of all of the branches and the small hearts. I fussy cut all of these out which was crazy! I highly recommend the dies if you plan on a design like this! I embossed a sentiment on the banner using Wow Fluorescent Blue embossing powder.
I die-cut the background with an A2 Thin Frame Die. I then die-cut a circle (using the SSS Thin Frame Dies) out of the top of the background. I tried all different circles in my stash and this one fit around it just showing a little of the blue underneath which I liked. I used the inside circle without the two frames. For the card base, I used a Rainbow Splash cardstock called Lake which is a turquoise blue like no other I've been able to find. I will be stocking up on this color!!! I used a piece of acetate behind the circle and then built up two layers of foam tape on the backside. I poured PPP sparkling clear star sequins inside the opening and then attached the background over it. I glued all of the small vines around the opening and the banner across the top. I used the two doves on the top of the banner and the hearts below the circle. I added some pearls Little Things From Lucy's Cards Crystal Collection between the hearts.
This card was not planned as I went along. I ended up having to stamp a lot more of the little plant pieces once I decided to frame the circle with them. I hope you enjoyed this shaker made with the Peace On Earth stamp set. But keep in mind, I highly recommend the Peace On Earth stamp and die bundle if you can afford it as this was a lot of fussy cutting with lots of small pieces! Thanks for visiting today.
