For today's card, I used the new School Supplies cling stamp from the SSS Just A Note release. I love how they have so many coordinating school card supplies in this release. My grand-daughter gave me strict instructions on what I was allowed to use on each of the cards I made so she can give them all to her teachers. I made 5 school cards with The Write Stuff bundle as a "one stamp, five ways" post on the SSS blog. You can see that post HERE. Here is an image of the School Supplies cling stamp:
Here is my card:
You can't tell by looking, but this card was a very time consuming card to make as it is all 3-D! I wish you could tell that in the photograph! I started by stamping it twice full size which gave me a 5.5" square that I cut down to fit on a 5x5" card base. I used black ink. I then colored the background items on the first one with Copic markers. This included the notebook and ruler and red pen on the bottom right. I used a silver Uniball for the notebook spirals. I added a gray shadow to items that are against white and I used one shade darker than the notebook paper to shadow all the items on the notebook.
Next, I colored all of the other items with Copics including the scissors, pencils, marker and pen. I cut all of the items out right against the black edges. I then used a black Copic brush tip along the edges of all of them to blacken them. I used a silver uniball again for the scissors and ends of the pencils. After I cut them all out, I attached them over the uncolored ones with foam tape behind them. You could see a little bit of white under them, so I used a fine tip black marker to color over the edges of the original ones that were underneath.
I die-cut the Just a Note Die from white and red cardstock and glued them together. I attached that to the top left corner. with foam tape beneath it. I decided NOT to add my usual finishing touches - not a sequin, gem, pearl, or Nuvo drop to be found!!!
By the way, you can't tell, but this 5x5" square card opens from the bottom up, not right to left. I hope you enjoyed this very time consuming card that uses the School Supplies cling stamp. Now that I realize you can cut all the items off it fairly easily, I might use the individual items to get more use out of the stamp. It goes so well with a lot of the other back to school products in the Just A Note release. Thanks for visiting today! suzy
