Today I have an embossing folder card to share with you that uses one from quite a while ago called Exotic Vines. By quite a while ago, it is probably only about a year old! With monthly releases at Simon Says Stamp, it's hard to remember! Here is an image of this embossing folder:
I also used a new product for the sentiment from the Out of This World release called the Etched Greetings stamp and die bundle. The Etched Greetings stamp set was originally released in the June, 2023 card kit and then the matching dies came out in this latest release. Here is my card:
I first embossed the Etched Vines Embossing Folder with white cardstock. I like using Neenah 110 lb. cardstock as it is thick and embosses nicely and I also like the texture the best when coloring. I always run it through three times to get a good embossed image.
I colored the image with Copic Markers. I find they are the easiest coloring tool to color over embossed images. I then use colored pencils to outline each item as that covers up any of my mistakes! It's easy to outline as you just follow the lines of the raised images. I used a white Uniball Gel Pen to add lines on each vine.
I embossed a sentiment from the Etched Greetings stamp set on vellum using Carnation Red embossing powder. I then die-cut it out with the matching dies and also die-cut one from white cardstock. I attached the vellum one to the white cardstock one and attached it to the center of the card with foam tape behind it. I die-cut a SSS Sentiment Strip using the SSS Sentiment Label dies and attached that below it also with foam tape behind it so it would stand out more. I added some Blushing Red Nuvo Drops around the card front to fill in open spaces.
I love coloring embossing folders, so this was a fun card to make. I hope you enjoyed it and like this a little older Exotic Vines embossing folder! Thanks so much for visiting today! I was gone for a week, but I'll be back every day this week as there is a new release on Thursday - whoopee! Suzy
