I pulled out a stamp set I haven't had a chance to use yet from the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release last year called Printmaking Birds. It is a 6x8" stamp set with a matching set of dies for the birds. Here is an image of the bundle:
And here is my card. I didn't use the dies, just the stamp set in my favorite random stamping method.
I started the card by stamping the birds multiple times on a piece of white cardstock. The birds are all together on one stamp, so I just stamped it right next to each other each time. I think I ended up stamping it four times. I used Intense Black Ink.
I colored all of the birds in with colored pencils. I could have used the printmaking stamps since that is the whole point of this stamp set - not to have to color it haha. But we all know how I feel about coloring, so I couldn't resist. I used a white uniball gel pen to add lines on each bird. I die-cut this piece with a stitched rectangle and attached it to a piece of royal blue cardstock.
I die-cut a sentiment strip with the SSS Sentiment Label dies using the same blue cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set with black ink on it. I attached it to the card front with foam tape behind it. I then used some Nuvo Drops in Vintage Yellow Brick Road and Red Berry Gloss between the birds.
I think this Printmaking Birds stamp set could/should be used to take advantage of all it has to offer. And that is using ink to color the birds with three different stamps allowing for three different colors. Also, with the matching dies, you can cut out each bird individually and have lots of little birds to use on all of your cards! I'll try all this next!!!
