Simon Says Stamp Dear Friend Release - Howdy Stamp Set

Today is the Simon Says Stamp May, 2023 release called "Dear Friends". The banner above shows you a lot of the products in action! There will be a two day blog hop to celebrate this release on Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st. I made a card using the Howdy stamp set and matching sets of dies. It is also sold as a bundle as you can see here:

And here is my slimline card. Because when there is a scene to be created, it's always a slimline for me!

I started by stamping all of the images in the Howdy stamp set with Latte Ink including 3 of the cactus and 2 of the mountains. I then colored them all in with colored pencils. I added some sparkly details with the glitter pens in the May card kit that I love! I die-cut them out with the matching dies (was very happy to have them with this set!).

Next I made the background. I die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies and arranged how my scene would look. I then rubbed Pawsitively Saturated Inks on the sky with Marine and on the ground using Trio 19, primarily Fawn and Cozy. I kept the outside edges of the rectangle white. I attached this to a burnt orange card base.

I arranged all of the images on the background to create a scene. I used foam tape behind the upper part of most of the images to create depth. I then stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on the top left side of the card with Walnut Lawn Fawn Ink. I applied some Cocoa Blush Nuvo Jewel Drops around the ground. I think I should have used a Copic or pencil to create shading instead, but oh well!
