Wow, I feel like I haven't posted a "one stamp, five ways" post in a long time! I finally got one done yay! I used the new Caring Thoughts stamp set and matching dies from the SSS Dear Friends release because it is just so darling. I saw lots of possibilities in all of the images in the set and all of the different greetings too. Here is an image of the bundle:
Here are my five cards:
I started by making this slimline card which was sent in for the release banner photography. It is right under the new release name haha. I think I used every stamp in the Caring Thoughts stamp set on it except the bear! I stamped them all with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock, stamping doubles of the small flowers and butterfly. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I prefer pencils for critters as I can make it look like they have fur with the strokes of the pencils. I used Craft Consortium glitter pens to add shading to the images.
I die-cut a rectangle using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Die from white cardstock. I then applied a light amount of Pawsitively Saturated Ink to it as a background using the Ranger Domed Blending Foam applicators. I used Sprout for the grass on the lower portion and a mixture of Lemonade and Carnation for the sky. I arranged all of the die-cut images over the background creating a cute scene. I cut the dragon away from the two flowers on that stamp so I could use the large daisy and small daisy alone. I embossed a sentiment on the top with Sunflower embossing powder and added a sub-greeting with black ink below it. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops over the center of the flowers and on the butterfly wings and then Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops around the background.
I stamped the mouse with the flower three times with Latte Ink on white cardstock. I then die-cut the images out and cut just the flowers with the stem off of two. I colored them in with colored pencils. I then outlined them with a fine tip Micron black marker.
I die-cut an oval out of a very old piece of lavender patterned paper using the SSS Nested Oval Dies. I seriously looked through about 500 pieces of 6x6 paper to pick this piece - hahaha. I think it was originally by Fiskers from back in my scrapbooking days. I applied some Lemonade PSI to the center so it would be behind the mouse.I attached it to a white card base and then arranged the mouse stamp in the center with the other two flowers behind it so he looks like he is holding three flowers. I added a ground under the mouse feet with gray Copic markers. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set above the stamped items and added three Nuvo Drops around the scene.
I love the new Modern Postage Stencil and Die set from the Dear Friends release and had been wanting to use it. I used the largest die in the center of a piece of A2 sized white cardstock for a frame. I then die-cut two pieces of patterned paper from the Craft Consortium Over the Rainbow 6x6 paper pad for the grass and sky. I used the die to cut the top of the grass line as well and layered it over the sky piece, fitting both inside the frame. This postage frame allowed me to create a smaller scene than using the whole A2 card.
I stamped all of the images with Latte ink and colored them in with a blend of Copic markers and colored pencils. I outlined them with a fine tip black marker. I love images that don't have black outlines or have just very thin lines that I add myself. I used the two flowers from the stamp with the little dragon on it and cut him off again. I love those daisies! I layered the grass and flowers and bunny images to create a little scene. I used Yellow Bird Glitter Drops in the center of the flowers and butterfly wings. I stamped a sentiment on the top left side of the scene with Intense Black Ink.
I had a background I had previously made with Nuvo Shimmer Powders. I used Ranger Watercolor Paper and a mix of Solar Flare Yellow, Atlantis Burst, and Falling Leaves. I die-cut it with an A2 Thin Frame die and attached it to a white cardstock card base. I die-cut the A2 Marquee die - the second smallest one) out of white cardstock and attached that to the center of the background.
I rubbed some Seafoam PSI over the center of the marquee die. I stamped the panda with Latte Ink and colored him with colored pencils. I outlined him as well. I attached him to the edge of the marquee over the ink. I stamped a sentiment above and below him with Intense Black Ink. I added some Iceberg Blue Jewel drops around the panda.
I FINALLY used the dragon stamp in full! I stamped it with Latte Ink and colored him with Copics and colored pencils. I die-cut it out and also colored and die-cut a butterfly.
I made the background with another patterned paper I had in my stash. This one wasn't very old, so someone might recognize it! I love this rainbow design and had been saving it for the perfect card for a couple of years. I die-cut a circle out of the top of it. I then die-cut a circle from the Thin Frames wafer dies which has two frames. I colored the smaller one with a yellow Copic. I attached all three inside the die-cut circle in my paper. I used foam tape behind the stamped images and attached them over the circle design. I stamped a sentiment with black ink on the bottom of the card. I used some Party Pink Nuvo Drops around the images.
I seriously LOVE this Caring Thoughts stamp set. Whoever illustrated it has done two so far (one Easter one) and I just adore their style which is a little different than other designs Simon has offered in the past. I hope they continue to use this person as the images create the cutest scenes and there are so many different sentiment subjects. Thanks for visiting today and I hope you all have a great week! Suzy
