A couple of days ago I posted a card using the MFT In My Prayers stamp set from their last release. Today I have a card to share using an MFT stamp set from the brand new release they had a couple days ago. The stamp set is by Stacey Yacula and is called Peaceful Birds. There is also a set of Peaceful Birds matching dies which I was very happy to have. Here is an image of the stamp set:
And here is my slimline card:
The first thing I did was stamp all of the images in the Peaceful Birds stamp set on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I stamped two of each of the three birds thinking I might need doubles which worked out well! I colored all of the images in with ... colored pencils! I used a white Uniball gel pen on the bird house over my shading with a gray pencil. This gave it a nice shiny effect looking like real paint!
I decided they would all fit nicely on a vertical slimline card. I die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock using the SSS nested Slimline Rectangle Dies. I used the MFT Slimline Cloud Edges stencil to add clouds to the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. I added grass with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink. I then attached it to a mustardy yellow card base.
I arranged all of the images over the card background creating a little scene. I ended up using all six of the birds and put foam tape behind each. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set at the top of the card with black ink. I added some drops around the background using Nuvo Vintage Drops in Yellow Brick Road and Chalk Stick.
I absolutely LOVE this Peaceful Birds stamp set as it is Stacy's classic style, but is a little different than her usual sets. I love that SSS carries all of the MFT new products so I can buy all of my products from one source - all links below are to SSS. Thanks so much for visiting!
