I recently bought just ONE Mama Elephant stamp set, which was very hard to do. I love all of their stamps. If I could only pick one, it had to be a floral. Of course! And I saved on the dies by doing all the fussy cutting myself! It is called More Blooms and I bought it at Simon Says Stamp. Here is an image:
And by the way - if you haven't been to Simon Says Stamp lately, go visit! They have completely redone their website and it's amazing! Here is my slimline card:
I stamped all of the flowers in the More Blooms stamp set and some twice with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I then colored them in with colored pencils. I also added details with my new glitter pens (from a recent SSS card kit). I then cut them all out which was not the easiest fussy cutting I have done, but I'm glad I saved $22 on the dies! If it means I can buy another stamp set, I'm all about fussy cutting! But if you prefer to get the dies, they are here...
I made a background for the flowers starting with a rectangle die-cut with the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies from white cardstock. I then applied Pawsitively Saturated Ink to it with the Ranger Foam Applicators. I find they give me a softer look than brushes, but I use both. I applied a mixture of Seafoam and Marine to the top and Tidepool to the bottom. I then attached it to a white cardstock slimline card base (8.5" x 3.5").
I attached all of the flowers over the front of the card, cutting some of the stems to be shorter. I stamped a sentiment with Orchid PSInk using the Mother's Day Dogwood stamp set. I stamped it on a SSS Sentiment Label die. I attached that over some of the stems on the bottom center of the card. I added some white drops and aqua drops over the sky using Vintage Chalk Stick Drops and Jewel Iceberg Blue drops.
I love how colorful this card is, but I want to use this Mama Elephant More Blooms stamp set in a less colorful way as well. I also want to try them with watercolor. I hope you enjoyed this slimline card today and thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
