Tim Holtz just released some new cling stamps that are right up my alley - flowers! I saw this one called Floral Trims and I knew it was calling my name! I decided to try it out on a slimline card and was so happy that the pattern matches up so you can make it longer than the stamp! Tim Holtz is always a hero in my book (probably every crafter's book!). Here is my slimline card:
I die-cut a rectangle using the SSS Nested Slimline rectangle dies from white cardstock. I then stamped one of the two images in the Floral Trims stamp set with black ink on the left side of the rectangle. I moved it over and stamped the stamp to the right of it to fill up the rest of the slimline rectangle and like I said, the pattern matched perfectly.
I received an OLO marker at the Create event I just attended and I love it. I'm so bugged that I love it as I already have all the Copics and refills. It is really smooth coverage though. I wanted to use it, so I colored the flowers in peaches/corals using Copics first (and my new OLO). I then added shading and details with colored pencils. I love using both together to get the shading I love without the heaviness of pencils by themselves. I colored the background with a black Copic marker so the flowers would really pop.
I attached it to a light pink card base. I embossed a "thanks" sentiment from the SSS Big and Bold 2 stamp set and die-cut it out with the matching dies (bundle here as well). I love this set as it is so versatile and chunky. I used Nuvo Strawberry Slush embossing powder on the same color cardstock as the card base. I then attached it to the top right with foam tape behind it. I added a small sentiment below it from the Sister Sentiment Strips set, die-cut with the SSS Sentiment Label dies. I also added some small pearls from the Honey Bee Happy Hearts Pearl stickers.
Now I get to use the second border to make another card, so this set is really worth the price. I just love the style of the flowers in it. It is called Floral Trims Cling Stamp and I bought mine at Simon Says Stamp. Thanks so much for visiting and see you back tomorrow! Suzy
