I have recently fallen in love with Gina K. Designs stamps. I discovered she also has LOTS of florals. I saw her at the SSS Create event and it was so funny seeing everyone standing in line for her make in take - the crowd was enormous. She came out and talked to everyone in line for a while and took lots of pics with people. I felt like it was a red-carpet moment haha. Anyway, I digress. Today I have a card to share that uses one of my brand new purchases called the Floral Delight Background Stamp. Here is an image:
I liked this stamp so much that I accidentally bought two of them - one from SSS that was on it's way to me while I was at Create where I bought a second one forgetting I had already ordered it! I'm going to share the extra with my good friend Caly Pearson so she can wow you with another creation using it! I have combined it with a sentiment from the SSS Mother's Day Dogwood stamp. Here is my card:
I stamped the Floral Delight Background stamp (which is not a rubber cling - it is polymer) on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I then picked out 3 shades of 3 colored pencils to color the flowers. I rotated the three shades of each color on the petals. I then went back with a white colored pencil to blend the center of each petal and lighten it. I don't use Gamsol at all. I use either a white or light color pencil to blend and smooth (waxy ones) or I use a wax blending pencil by Caran d'ache to blend.
I decided to go with a black background, so I colored it with a black Copic marker. I'm really drawn to black backgrounds lately! I used the Glitter Pens from the last card kit for the center of the flowers. I love that they have such a fine tip as they colored in teh little dots perfectly. Then I used a white Uniball gel pen over the outside ring of each as I wanted them to pop more. I die-cut this piece with a SSS Basic Rectangle Die. I attached it to a white card base.
I stamped a "thank you" sentiment from the Mother's Day Dogwood stamp set from the latest Beautiful Days release. I love this thank you as it is so versatile with the big block letters. I stamped it on a SSS Sentiment Label Die with Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I first stamped it with Carnation and then I stamped just the top half with Orchid. I used my finger to blend the edge of the ink before stamping. I die-cut a second sentiment from the Reverse Sisters Sentiment Strips. I attached both to the front of the card with foam tape behind them. I added some epoxy drops to the center of each flower from the Julie Hickey Tutti Frutti Glossies and Earth Tone Glossies. She included these in the gift bags for the Create event, so I wanted to try them out and loved them as they aren't that dimensional which I like.
I hope you enjoyed this very wordy post using the Gina K. Designs Floral Delight Background Stamp and the SSS Mother's Day Dogwood Stamp. I'll be back tomorrow as this is a week of daily posts to make up for being gone last week! Suzy
