Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp Limited Edition Sweet Tweets 2023 Easter Card Kit. I made 5 projects with this kit to share with you as a "one stamp, five ways" post. Here is an image of the kit:
There are several products in the kit that are sold separately as well. There is the darling 6x8" stamp set also called Sweet Tweets and a matching set of Sweet Tweets dies. There are also two dies in the kit called Fancy Happy Easter and Posy Wafer Die. Some of the embellishments in the kit are also sold seperately and you can see them in my supply list at the bottom of this post. And here are all of my projects:
I made this card almost entirely with the papers in the kit which are Paper Rose Violet Garden 6x6" papers. I used them for the outside as well as the inside of the card. I cut out the wreath image from one of the papers and glued it on the top of a lavender card base, cutting off one side of it. I then cut out some of the flowers and the bunny that was in the die-cuts in the kit and attached them around the wreath. I added some more shading to them with Copics. I die-cut the Fancy Happy Easter die from another one of the papers and white cardstock and attached it to the front of the card in the center of the wreath. I added some Sweet Lilac Nuvo Drops around the wreath.
For the inside of the card, I attached two of the papers to the two sides of the card. I then attached one of the Honeycomb Paper Eggs in the kit to the center of the card glueing the spine and both sides down. I cut the small string off of it. I stamped Easter Blessings on a small Sentiment Label die with Intense Black Ink and attached that to the bottom right corner of the card. When you open it, the egg pops open!
I die-cut a rectangle with the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies from white cardstock. I then applied Pawsitively Saturated Inks to it. I used Seafoam and Marine for the sky and Sprout and Fairway for the grass. I attached it to a white card base. I stamped all of the images in the Sweet Tweets stamp set with Latte Ink on white cardstock. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I didn't have the matching dies, so I fussy cut them out, but there are Sweet Tweets dies as well! I attached them to the card front with foam tape behind some of them. I embossed Happy Easter with Tim Holtz Wilted Violet Embossing Glaze. I cut that out and attached it to the center of the card front. I added some Crushed Grape Nuvo drops around the sentiment. I also used Nuvo Glitter Drops over a lot of the eggs and decorations on the colored images.
I die-cut an oval out of the center of the lavender patterned paper in the kit with the SSS Nested Oval Dies. I attached it to a white card base. I then stamped the birdhouse and a bunch of the elements in the stamps that had flowers in them with Latte Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I then cut around them (out of the cross or off the top of the birdhouse, etc...) and used a white Uniball gel pen to cover any lines that showed from the Latte Ink. I arranged flowers all around the oval and hung the birdhouse from the center of the oval. I embossed Happy Easter with Ranger Pink Peony embossing powder and attached that to the top of the oval. I added Nuvo drops around the wreath in Party Pink and Dandelion Yellow.
I went a little crazy with the Ivory Tags and Twine tags that are in the kit. I first attached them all to heavier cardstock by tracing them with a pencil and cutting inside the lines. I then colored the tags with Copic Markers to change all of the colors and brighten them up. I then applied a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to the colored area of each tag so they really sparkle. I cut out the bunny dies in the kit and colored them with Copics. I added the bunnies and some of my leftover flowers from the last card to the front of each tag. I then stamped some of the sentiments in the stamp set with black ink on Sentiment Label dies. I cut some words apart so I could alter what they said. I attached those over the bunny on each tag. I tied a pretty ribbon bow in the top of each.
I'll call this my treat bag card! I cut the top off the treat bag. I then made a card with the yellow cardstock in the kit that was just a bit larger than the bag (basically 5x7). I glued the bag to the card front. I then found a ribbon in my stash and I stapled it to the top of the bag on the inside and then glued it to the front of the bag so the bag can be filled with treats and held by the ribbon handle. I painted the wood chick in the kit with the Ranger yellow paint in the kit and the small brush that is included. I let it dry and then added shading over it with Copics. I glued the chick to the bottom of the bag and added a blue rhinestone eye and a bow to the hole in the top. I die-cut the Happy Easter die with the purple glitter cardstock in the kit and white cardstock and glued the white letters over the purple frame. I attached that to the top of the bag over the ribbon. It is now the perfect gift bag to give to my grandkids!
I am sorry I don't have as many photos in this post or any links throughout (yet) - I forgot the post went up tonight and now I'm rushing to get it up! I'll add links in the am and some more photos. I just wanted to make sure you could see my projects in case the kit sells out quickly. You can see all of the products I used in the supply list below. Thanks so much for visiting and I promise to make this a better blog post tomorrow! xoxo suzy
