When I place an order with Simon Says Stamp, I always look at their new product page to find stamp sets that I would enjoy coloring. They are usually flowers as you know. My favorites are usually Altenew, Pink Fresh, and Gina K. Designs. I saw a new set by Gina K. Designs when placing an order recently and I was so excited. Not only is it a gorgeous floral to color, it has sentiments that are some of my all time favorite scriptures. Here is an image of The Lord is My Shepherd stamp set:
My favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 and the stamp set contains the portion that says" Trust in the Lord with all thing heart". I've used this scripture as my life moto. The rest is "in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths". I wish I had followed it when I was younger and had two divorces by the age of 30! I was also super happy that it contains my mom's favorite scripture which is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". So good! I don't see very many stamp sets that contain scriptures or spiritual sentiments, so I just adore this set!
I made a slimline card with the set for my mom as she is getting older and my cards make her really happy. She displays them all over her house and shows them to every person that comes her way haha. So I used her favorite scripture on it for her to display.
I stamped the large floral grouping, two of the individual flowers, and three of the individual leaf branches. I used Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I colored them with colored pencils. I used a black Micron fine tip marker to darker the centers of each flower and a white Uniball gel pen to add lines on the flowers. I don't have the matching dies, so I fussy cut them all out which wasn't that hard to do. I like saving on dies for sets like this that don't have a lot of cutting involved.
I die-cut a slimline rectangle with the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies and attached it to a black card base. I then embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a black banner I have in my stash. I arranged the flowers around the card, using the two individual flowers and extra leaves on the left side to make it reach across the whole thing. I also added another leaf to the right to balance it. I used foam tape behind the top of each flower. I attached the sentiment banner along the bottom tucking some images below it. I added some sparkling clear sequins.
And now it is ready to be mailed which is always the hardest part of the process for me haha! I hate post office and have never set up the auto shipment options! I just adore this Gina K. Designs "The Lord is My Shepherd" stamp set. It may be one of my favorite all time sets! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
