I think I've mentioned that I recently ordered several floral stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp, primarily from Pink Fresh and Altenew. I've colored all of them now and have just this one and one more to share. And then I guess I'll have to go shopping again! I've been busy working on some new SSS surprises coming soon, so I haven't had much time to blog lately. I'll share these two flower cards I had already colored and then I'll be back next week with some Simon goodies. Here is the Altenew stamp set called Carefree Delight:
It has packaging inside it that opens and shows a couple different ways to color the images. I didn't see these until after I colored them and I didn't realize what kind of flowers they were. So I might have used incorrect colors, but I'm ok with that if you are ok with that haha. Here is my card:
This card is about as easy of a one layer card as you can get. I didn't even add sequins or gems or even Nuvo drops which is unheard of for me. I'm not even sure why. I just felt like it looked ok by itself. So here it is - all one layer of it. And considering I have three pics and not much to say, let's move right on, shall we?
I stamped the Altenew Carefree Delight stamp with Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Latte. It is the perfect color for no-line coloring. I then colored the image in my new favorite way. First I use a layer of a really light color of Copic markers. Then I add a little shading with Copics in a couple other colors, but stay mostly with light colors. Then I go in with colored pencils and add all the shading. I have been trying this technique of mixing the two coloring mediums lately and I really like how it is working! I added some lines with a white Uniball gel pen.
I die-cut this piece with the SSS Rectangle Die set. I then mounted it on Lawn Fawn Raspberry cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on the top left side with Intense Black Ink. And that's it! All done! I let the coloring stand on it's own on this one!
If you haven't tried mixing Copic Markers with colored pencils yet, I strongly recommend it. I'm able to get the best out of both coloring mediums. I love all of the Altenew floral stamp sets, but this Carefree Delight stamp has such big petals, that it really allows you to shade to your hearts content! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
