Today we are going to get WILD! I teamed up all the wild products from the Hugs Release and the Kisses Release for a wild card to share with you! I used the Wild About You Die, the Animal Print Stencils, and the Wild Love Stamp Set. Here are images of the products:
I kind of struggled with the background using the Animal Print Stencils. I went through quite a process to get to this! I started by attaching the stencil to white cardstock and brushing on Tropic and Surf Pawsitively Saturated Inks over it. I did circular movements over the stencil, moving from color to color. I then applied the two darker shades in these ink Trio's: Aegean and Ocean using the flat brushes just on the edges. Then I applied the two lightest colors in these two ink Trios: Seafoam and Tidepool again moving in a circular motion rotating the colors. If I had stopped right here, it looked great!
But I wanted it to have some sheen, so I rubbed some Stickles Galaxy Glitter Gel over it with my finger - a very light coat. The glitter gel has small sequins in it which just photographed as dark blobs, but they are little circles and stars and look great in real life. But once it dried, you couldn't see the variations in color from the stencil. So I reattached it and outlined around each area with a white Uniball gel pen. Then I used a Copic marker to outline just inside each white line. Ok, seriously? Did I really do this much work on a one layer stencil? Am I crazy? That's a resounding YES! I was trying to get this effect that Barbara showed on IG and I failed miserably. But I have my own look, and I think I like it?!!! I die-cut it with an A2 Thin Frame Die and attached it to white cardstock. I will state again, it looks better in real life.
I stamped an elephant from the Wild Love Stamp Set with black ink and die-cut it out with the matching dies. I colored it in with Copics using teal's to match the background on the t-shirt. I then die-cut the Wild About You die twice from white cardstock. I colored the letters with different aqua Copics to match. I die-cut a couple extra of the hearts and colored them all pink. I used foam tape behind the sentiment and tucked the elephant on the top. I glued the 3 hearts around the scene and inside the O. Bam - such a basic and easy card I created today. hahahaha
I hope you enjoy me telling you all of my horror stories as I make cards. I ain't no CZ Designs Cathy Zielsky with clean and simple designs. And I'm certainly not a Jennifer McQuire with technique filled perfection on every post. I'm messy and make a lot of mistakes and learn as I go with my best skill being coloring. Everything else is a crap shoot with me haha. I hope you enjoyed this very wild card today and thank you for visiting! Suzy
