Today I have combined two different products from the SSS Be Creative Release in a shaker card. I immediately fell in love with the Vitamin Sea stamp set as I love anything related to the ocean. I loved coloring these cute mermaids in very bright colors! I also used the new Brush Stroke stencil in the release. Here are images of both of these products:
I have never made an infinity shaker card before, so this was my first attempt! I had no idea how it was done, so I asked Susan Opel how she did it and she said she used stamp packaging. I decided to go that way since I didn't have any of the products I think are made for these type of cards. Did I mention that my card is very bright? Go get your shades now - you have been warned!
I started with a piece of A2 sized white cardstock. I then applied Seafoam Pawsitively Saturated Ink to the entire thing. Next, I attached the Brush Stroke Stencil over it and used Marine Pawsitively Saturated Ink over the openings. Next, I used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen over the blue areas. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add lines at the top of each blue area and then dots below the lines to mimic ocean white wash. I wish you could see this in real life as the background looks so good that I hated covering it up!
I removed the packaging from a 4x6 stamp set. I cut the bottom off as well as most of the flap. I inserted the background piece into it and poured a bunch of the new Lucky Charm sequin mix in. I then folded the top over and adhered it with a piece of tape and attached the entire front to a white card base. I think there might be a product out there that lets you make these type of cards without using your product packaging, so if you know who makes them, let me know! I love the look!
I stamped all of the images in the Vitamin Sea stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock. I colored them all in with Copic markers even using my fluorescent colors! I added some lines with a white gel pen. I die-cut all of the images out with the matching Vitamin Sea dies (so glad I had them!). I then attached them all to the front of the shaker card. I stamped a sentiment in the stamp set on a white banner with black ink and attached that to the card front also. I used Aqua Plains and Iceberg Blue Nuvo Jewel Drops over the bubbles on the front.
I think this is such a fun card and I just love this Vitamin Sea stamp set! I wanted to do a "one stamp, five ways" with it, but I haven't had the time yet. I think I may still do it as I have so many ideas for it! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope I have sent you some summer vibes during all the storms out there! Suzy
