Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp March 2023 Card Kit called Happy Hello. I have a "one stamp, five ways" to share with you using the Happy Hello 6x8" stamp set as well as all of the other card kit contents. The stamp has kind of a folk art feel to it. Here is an image of the Happy Hello Kit:

I think my favorite part of this kit are the gorgeous 6 x 8" papers by Simple Stories called the Wildflower Collection. I used the papers in many of my cards. Here they are:
CARD 1:
For the background of this card, I cut one of the Simple Stories Wildflower Collection papers with the largest die in the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies. I attached that to a navy cardstock card base. I then stamped the heart in the Happy Hello stamp set with SSS White Ink on Neenah 100 lb. Desert Storm Cardstock. I let the ink dry and then colored over it with colored pencils that matched the papers in the kit. Luminance pencils by Caran d'ache and Prismacolor Pencils work best over colored cardstock as they are the most opaque. I used a white Uniball gel pen over some of the elements. I die-cut it out with the largest die in the SSS Nested Round Hearts dies (which fit perfectly around it and is even the same exact shape!).
I used foam tape behind the heart and attached it to the bottom of the patterned paper. I then embossed a sentiment from the Happy Hello stamp set with Pink Peony embossing powder on a small rectangle die and cream cardstock. I embossed the rick rack border stamp on each edge using Tim Holtz Prize Ribbon embossing glaze. I also used foam tape behind that and attached it to the top of the card. I added some Midnight Sparkle sequins around the sentiment.
CARD TWO:
This is my least favorite card. I wanted to use the Tim Holtz Salvaged Patina embossing glaze that came in the kit, so I embossed the heart stamp on white cardstock. I think it looks so pretty embossed in this color! I then die-cut around it with one of the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies. I cut an A2 card size piece of one of the Wildflower Collection papers and attached it to a yellow/gold card base. I then attached the white cardstock piece with the embossed heart over it centered.
I then die-cut another of the Wildflower Collection papers with the MFT A2 Rectangle Frame dies. I attached that centered over the white paper. I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Hello stamp set with Intense Black Ink on white cardstock and cut around it. I then tied a piece of Lawn Fawn Aquamarine Cord around the bottom of the stamped heart and tied a bow on one side. I attached the sentiment over the left side of the twine with foam tape under it.
CARD 3:
This is my "random stamping" technique card (yes, there always is one!). I stamped all of the flowers in the Happy Hello stamp set with different Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I used several of the Trio's, first stamping with the lightest color and then adding some of the darker color to the outside areas. I also used some Copic markers to shade them. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add details to each flower.
I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies and attached it to a purple cardstock card base. I then die-cut the "Happy Wishes" die that came in the kit and is also sold separately twice from white cardstock. I colored one of the sets of letters with Copics to match the purples in the card. I attached the letters over the just white set and attached it to the bottom of the card with foam tape behind it. I added some miscellaneous jewels I had in my stash around the sentiment.
CARD 4:
I first stamped several of the flowers and stems from the Happy Hello stamp set on Arches Watercolor Paper. I used Karin Brushmarkers directly on the stamps. I colored just small portions of each stamp and stamped them quickly before the ink moved around. I used a wet paintbrush to move the color and to add a soft wash of color around the flowers. I love how the Brushmarkers bleed so easily as it allows you to just use a wet paintbrush to make a background wash. I die-cut this piece with one of the frames in the MFT A2 Rectangle Frame Dies.
I die-cut another frame from bright fuchsia cardstock this time using the frame piece, not the inside of the frame piece like I did over the watercolor. I attached foam tape behind these two pieces keeping them together. I attached them to a light aqua cardstock card base. I then die-cut a thin frame using the SSS A2 Thin Frame Dies from SSS A2 Holographic Rainbow cardstock. I glued that over the aqua card base to frame the inside piece. I die-cut a banner from yellow cardstock using the Honeybee Sentiment Banner Dies. I embossed a sentiment from the stamp set on the banner using the Salvaged Patina embossing glaze in the kit. I added some Caribbean Ocean Nuvo drops around the sentiment banner.
CARD 5:
This card is made primarily with the Simple Stories Wildflower Collection papers. I cut the floral design from one of the papers as I thought it was just so pretty! I then colored over it with Copics to add additional shading and design. I then outlined it with a fine tip Micron black marker. I added some lines with a white Uniball. I cut around the flowers so the background of the paper was removed.
I wanted to make a 5x7 card since the floral design was so large. I made a card base with Lawn Fawn Raspberry cardstock. I then cut a piece of navy cardstock a bit smaller. I cut a piece of the patterned paper that matched a little smaller than that. I layered all of the cardstock and the paper for the card base. I attached the floral design over it. I then embossed a sentiment with SSS Steel Navy embossing powder on a small sentiment banner die. I attached that to the top of the card. I added some ivory gems I had in my stash around the flowers.
And that is my "one stamp, five ways" using the SSS Happy Hello kit and focusing on the Happy Hello 6x8 stamp set. Thanks so much for visiting today! Suzy
