I've been on a floral roll lately, but then again, when am I not on a floral roll? I purchased quite a few new floral stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp and I am really enjoying them. The one I used today is by Altenew called Nostalgic Florals. I only purchased the stamp set which is BIG, but they also have a set of Nostalgic Florals dies (you know my opinion on spending money on dies!) and Nostalgic Florals Stencils (you know I like to color, so I skip stencils). Here is an image of the stamp set:
After I colored all of the images and cut them out (easy to fussy cut these babies), I tried to arrange them all on a regular A2 sized card and couldn't get them all on. So of course I made a slimline card!
I die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock using the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies. I rubbed some Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Bubblegum over it with a very light touch (which means I use Ranger Mini Domed Ink Blending Foam instead of brushes). I attached that to a fuchsia card stock card base.
I stamped all of the images from the stamp set on which cardstock with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I used a black fine tip Micron marker on the flower centers. I cut them out and also cut off the leaves so they would fit better on the card. I attached them to the top and bottom of the card by first attaching the flowers with foam tape under them. Then I tucked the leaves under the foam so they were closer to the flowers than if I hadn't cut them off. It also made it so the leaves are "behind" the flowers since I didn't use foam under them.
I used a scrap of paper I had previously painted with Nuvo Shimmer Powders for the sentiment. I always have pieces in my stash to use for die-cutting or card backgrounds. Using Shimmer Powder instead of just plain cardstock gives the sentiment so much more interest. I used the SSS Love You Very Much die from the Kisses Release. I die-cut two from white cardstock and one from this paper and layered them for depth in-between the flowers. I added some sequins from the Cupcake Frosting and Sweetheart mixes.
These flowers in the Nostalgic Florals stamp set were so fun to color because they are big with lots of open space. It was easy to blend the pencils and I left lines on purpose so they looked more realistic. I appreciate you visiting today! Suzy
