Today Simon Says Stamp released a Limited Edition card kit called "With Love". I used the kit for a "one stamp, five ways" post, focusing on the stamp set in the kit. It is a 6x8" set and is also called "With Love". There is also a set of With Love Dies. Here is an image of the kit (click on the image to see the list of supplies in it in the SSS shop):
The paper in this kit is 6x8" and is by Simple Stories called Heart Eyes. I love it so much - the colors are just WOW! I used a piece for the background of this card. The kit also includes a pack of Heart Eyes Ephemera which has the black ribbon edge I used on the card. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the A2 Marquee Die. I attached that to the front of the card with the black strip next to it.
I stamped the roses in the With Love stamp set with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I colored them in with colored pencils. I used a white Uniball gel pen on the edges of the petals. I didn't have the matching dies, so I fussy cut them out and attached them to the top of the marquee die. I then stamped the "love you" sentiment in the set with Intense Black Ink. I also fussy cut that out - love that the dies include the sentiments! I attached that below the roses and added 3 sparkling clear sequins.
I made this card with one of the gorgeous papers in the Heart Eyes 6"x8" paper pad. I kept it 6" wide and cut it to be 6" tall so it was a perfect square. I then added lots of shading to the flowers with Copic markers to darken areas. I also added small dots with a white Uniball gel pen. I carefully cut around the top of the 3 flowers. I attached the leftover piece to a piece of white cardstock just slightly bigger than the paper. I then put foam tape beneath the flowers and attached them lined up to the rest of the paper so you can't tell I cut it. The shading and lifting the flowers gave the paper way more depth and it was worth the trouble as I think it is just so pretty!
I attached the white cardstock to a piece of raspberry cardstock and made a white card base to go behind it. I stamped the xoxo banner die with black ink and colored it with colored pencils. I used a silver Uniball over the letters. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on a small white banner with black ink and embossed over it with clear embossing powder. I attached that with foam tape to the top left side of the card. I added a stamped heart below it. Now I will be able to treasure this beautiful paper forever!
I used some of the Heart Eyes papers for this card as well. I cut the heart in the center out of one of the papers. I die-cut two of the other papers with a rectangle die and cut the xoxo piece to be a shorter strip. i attached them overlapped on a white card base. I cut a piece of the striped paper to use over the border of the other two papers. I then used foam tape beneath the heart and attached that to the top of the card background.
I stamped the hands with Latte PSInk and colored them in with colored pencils. Pencils allowed me to add the shading needed for them to look like real hands. I colored the nails red. I stamped the "you are loved" sentiment from the stamp set in the center of the hands with black ink - love that it fits perfectly. I attached it over the heart and trimmed the edges of the arms to it fit perfectly. I added an empherma heart, a heart from the center of the Ticket Die, and two stamped and colored hearts to the bottom. I used another ephemera heart piece on the top of the large heart. I then used Nuvo Jewel Drops over most of the hearts and added some Red Berry drops on two of the hearts. I used Holly Berries Jewel Drops over the fingernails.
I die-cut a piece of Arches Cold Press watercolor paper with the SSS A2 Thin Frame Die. I then embossed the rose stamp in the With Love Stamp Set once on the top and twice on the bottom with white embossing powder. I didn't overlap them, so I didn't use masking paper - I just put them really close together.
I painted the flowers with my Karin Brushmarkers. I like to use them for images where I want to mix more than one color as they do that so well. I seriously love these markers! The colors move really easily, so I like using them best with embossing powder so they stay where I want them. But then to do the background, I just go back in with a wet paintbrush and move some of the color around the images for a soft wash background. I embossed the sentiment with Ranger Red Geranium embossing powder. I added some sparkling clear sequins.
This slimline card is my "random stamping" technique card that I seem to do on every one of my 5 card posts. I love puzzles and love coloring, so it just works well for me and it also shows off all of the stamps in a stamp set well. I started with a rectangle die-cut with the SSS Nested Slimline Rectangle Dies and white cardstock. I then stamped the images with Intense black ink by lining them up next to each other. I colored them all in with Copic Markers. I tried to match the colors in the Heart Eyes papers so all of my cards kind of went together. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add lines to each item and used a Silver Uniball on the keys.
I added a shadow beneath the images with a gray Copic marker. I attached it to a blue cardstock card base. I then die-cut the You Plus Me Ticket Die that came in the kit from both white cardstock and raspberry cardstock. I attached foam tape to the back of the white one and then glued the raspberry letters and heart over it. I added some glue to the top of these items and to the small hearts and locks on the background and used the Unicorn Glitter in the kit over them. I added very little glue so it was a light coat and the color could still be seen underneath.
I know I say this a lot with kits, but I could make SO MANY MORE CARDS with this one! I love the papers so much and the With Love stamp set is so versatile. Not only does it have LOTS of sentiments, it has a variety of images that could be used for many more card subjects as well. This With Love Limited Edition card kit is a keeper and I'm going to keep making more and more things with it! Thanks so much for visiting! I'll have another "one stamp, five ways" post up on the 14th with the February card kit and I posted one yesterday using the "A Glazing Day" stamp set. I love making Valentine's, so I am having a lot of fun over here!!! xoxoxo suzy
